Played some SF4

So I've played some SF4 as I got it yesterday,  and I have never spent so many hours in a fighting game in a while. It is truly as epic as the hype for it and at last a great fighting game besides SF2THDRMX that I can use my dearest 360 for.

BUT there is an issue with the dearest 360, the Dpad sucks. And it sucks so damn much that a black hole would seem like a weak-singing-on-the-last-verse vacuum cleaner. I have never ever been so frustrated about the controller in my life, I wanted to chug that POS in the brick wall. It feels so unresponsive at times and screws up combos at the wrong damn times, it feels like Im just rubbing the damn thing like you would do a lady and hope to please her, I cant stop hating on it.

Other then that I've been doing some online matches and I can say that I am getting the vibe that Ken is FOT...Game? I meet more Ken's then I do anything else, hell I even see Ryu less. I dont mind it so much as they are paying for the game and live so they are entitled to play it as they want, its just that I it just ends up the same tactic and counter in most matches which can become quite tiresome, but ah well Im just a noob anyway so I shouldnt care about it. But I do feel that I need to get myself an arcade stick to really step it up a bit, the dpad is just too random for me as I said.

And I have a little question, which character do you find yourself using the most?

I was thinking about getting an arcade stick, but settled on the much cheaper MadCatz fightpad. I have to say that I'm very impressed with it, and probably won't even bother looking for an arcade stick now or in the future. The d-pad is very responsive, and it allows you to pull off moves flawlessly.

It's ridiculous how many times you will get in a match with someone playing Ken. A usual 10-game set breaks down like this:

  • Ken
  • Ken
  • Akuma
  • Ken
  • Sagat
  • Ken
  • Ken
  • Ken (with grey hair)
  • Akuma
  • Zangief (spinning punches only!)

It can get a little frustrating, but over time it should level out.

And my favorite character is Balrog. MY FIGHT MONEY!!!

Dude i how do you even enjoy the online ? Half the time I'm trying to get into a match and i get the same damn response "Can't Play game " or  "User lobby full".
If i cant join the game then why in the hell are you giving me a result for it, then i have to search all over again.
AND when I'm done with the match it kicks me back to the main online menus EFFFIN annoying, even when i create a match
as soon as I'm done KICKED back to the main menu, why doesn't it just send me back to my EFFIN lobby. I HOPE they
address these issues with DLC.

I use Ken because that is who I'm best with. It annoys me when people see me pick Ken and they go from whoever they were going to be and pick Ken or Ryu and they are terrible with them.

and Worthy as to your rant about the d-pad, yeah it sucks, i said that to someone when I first got HD remix and they laughed at me and told me to learn to use the analog stick, they said it takes a while to get used to but its better than the shitty d pad. I got used to it and it is sooo much better than the d-pad although in some situations (mostly when trying to do an ultra when I'm on the right side) I quickly switch to the d-pad real quickly. But learn on the analog stick because it might be a while before you can find a stick or fightpad, unless you want to pay double.

Heh, yeah I do see the same pattern, though more Akuma's in the mix as well and awesome dude, only seen one Balrog player online yet, which is quite weird considering that he is actually top tier in SF4, but ah well.

mizl:
I have no issues like that, though people tend to kick me when they see that I have titles and stuff because they want lots and lots of them BPs, but ah well, you can always just create one yourself and people will join. Though the kicking back to the main menu and re-search is rather annoying yeah.

gla55jAw:
I've tried to use the analog stick more, but it feels awkward and unnatural compared to a stick or the dpad. But I guess I can get used to it, but there is a bigger chance that I'll just fork up the money for a stick or that fighting pad if I can find somewhere to try it.
