@austin_walker The book that was made into a TV series was Wizard's First Rule from the Sword of Truth series. And the reason they couldn't make the TV series was because the books integrated some heavy BDSM elements into the main characters and storylines.
If you want something fantasy that's more modern I have to recommend The Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks. Not his best work but it's a pretty sweet series about the life of a magic ninja. His book series pretty much created the whole white cover novel craze from the 2000's.
The tonal shift in the rest of the game will be interesting to see played out with the GBeast crew. From here out it's pretty intense emotionally. The places and situations they send the characters in are charged and I hope they can pull through before GOTY. The fourth chapter (especially the ending) will be something that can really throw your head off course until you process it.
I can't imagine the difference it would make to play chapter four and five back to back. Kinda interested to see reactions of the guys if they manage it.
Just to add to the worry over weird shit not happening in Fallout 4...
I encountered Preston randomly in a city wandering through the streets. Except it wasn't Preston because I left him at Sanctuary... and it wasn't a Synth of Preston either. I won't spoil what happens but hopefully you enjoy it.
I have to say that I always feel surprised at how few people have either played or even heard of Zeliard.
Released one year after Metroid/Castlevania/Legend of Zelda, it made huge strides in the "action adventure game" genre. It was graphically a step up and the mechanics were frankly amazing for it's time. It's mechanical elements are all things current action adventure games use. Metroidvania style levels, magic powers and bosses who are weak to certain kinds of magic, upgradable weapons that change in size/power. You even gain health based on XP and have special gear like boots or capes that affect your gameplay.
Zeliard was a really amazing package putting all the popular side scroller mechanics together. If you ever get the chance to try it out it's pretty great. Just make sure you use the non PC speaker music. Without Soundblaster or AdLib it was ear shattering.
lol, ah i remember that show. It would be awesome if they got Kevin Sorbo to do a voice for someone... or had someone try to recap the plot for that show, cause, yeah... no idea where it went...
It went... crazy? The purple girl turned out to be a star. Not metaphorically but really. She dated a moon or something at one point. This was after the ship got lost in some time warp negative zone. The ship AI got a body... um the crazy engineer guy became the leader of some ragtag mercenaries, the blonde lady was a rebel against their oppression. The guy who betrayed the captain in the pilot comes back as a hero from another timeline and the "Friendly" Nietzschean guy saved his race somehow and stayed on a planet. Oh and the weird aliens that ate everyone were being manipulated by some weird being but he was killed and the monk one became their messiah/progenitor.
It's probably weirder than that but my memory is fuzzy.
