@corvak:

This is exactly what I was wondering. He seemed downright confrontational. I can understand not wanting to color people's experience of the game by expressing your intentions but being short and blunt comes off as pretentious.

@sunbrozak:

Oh no man, I didn't think you were being insulting. I legitimately thought that was the best use of the notifications. Thanks for reminding me!

@bkbroiler:

Totally agree. I kinda did a video review of the game but it devolved into a rant about this system around 1:24

@pinner458: As others have pointed out you can combat drones by:

1). Taking out the drone subsystem in the enemy ship

2). Deploying your own Anti-drone Drone which will attack enemy drones around your ship

Or you can act defensively by:

1). Adding more shields

2). Increasing shield recharge rates (either with the Shield Recharge Booster augmentation and/or manning that system)

3). Increasing your dodge chance by upgrading your engines and/manning your Pilot and Engine systems

All that said, I usually act more defensively with drones and put use all my offense (weapons and boarding) to take out their weapons

@soniking: I think that would do OK for your purposes. I gave my fiancee a similar laptop but with no dedicated graphics and it runs Psychonauts, Costume Quest, and Bioshock 1 pretty well. One thing my Alienware has that the one you picked doesn't but is invaluable to me is an HDMI out port. That allows me to hook my laptop up to my TV and use it like a console (with wireless mouse/360 controller).

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

I was looking forward to this game since the initial trailer. The combination of a period piece with a truly unique adversary and investigation elements just did it for me. Then, whether due to the outcry from XCOM fans or the success of Enemy Unknown, the most unique elements were scrapped (with the exception of the time period) for generic ones. Polygon has a great (although depressing) write up on the development of that game here.
