I stumbled upon a reasonably priced Xbox One controller at the outlet section of an electronic store, so I bought my first controller ever. We had been talking about trying some co-op game with my wife, who's been wanting to get back into gaming for a while now. We tried GOW4 co-op, but 3d movement while being shot at was a bit too overwhelming. We tried Battleblock Theater instead and we both like the style and humor.

I've been a part of "PC master race" for over 10 years and used mouse and keyboard only, so I've only played a few extremely arcadey racing games. Since finishing Wolfenstein 2, which was great, I wanted to try some racing since I was no longer limited to on/off style steering, gas and brake. I bought Project Cars for cheap to try how it felt on a controller and very much liked it. I did find the selection of cars to be somewhat limited since I'd rather drive regular sreeet legal cars than super cars. After a few hours of Nordschleife with Project Cars I did some research and bought Forza Motorsport 7. I've been mostly enjoying car porn since then.

I'm still on the last island of Cuphead and I play a boss every now and then. It also feels better with the controller, so that's also great.

South Park has been on the bench waiting for everything else to be done.

Still the best time to be playing etc.

All those were great, but I'm gonna go with the blood explosion. That caught me by surprise and made me laugh out loud.

The part about the beheading and resurrection was telegraphed so much in advance, that it lessened the impact.

Old Hitler showing up was surprising and mostly funny, but him pissing, coughing, throwing up and being an insane paranoid sack of shit was a bit too much. And yes I know, the rest of the game isn't all that subtle and of course I didn't expect a person like that to be portrayed as anything else, but I guess I still wished for more sinister and intelligent Bond movie villain and less an idiotic Austin Powers villain.

Best moment not on this list was in the beginning with BJ and Set talking while nazis do explosive slapstick in the background.

Least favorite moment: End credits song. I was spoiled a bit by Jeff saying it would be awful, but still after a couple of seconds I was frantically slapping my escape, space and everything else that I could reach to make it stop.

Escaping Fort Joy leads to hollow marshes. I think the secret passage is next to the murdering gheist and you need wits to spot it.

This game was occasionally so confusing (and sometimes buggy) with the quest log that I felt ok looking up a walkthrough a couple of times instead of banging my head against the wall.

I'm already at book 29 of the Horus Heresy series anBLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE.

In other news, David Wong's What The Hell Did I Just Read was good. Not as great as John Dies At The End or This Book Is Full Of Spiders, but good and fun with a nice twist. I think the main characters depression was overplayed a bit this time. The parts about depression were mostly well described and they're a big part of the character and how others react to him, but somehow I still felt like it was hammered home and underlined a couple of times too many. I guess it makes me feel like the writer was underestimating the readers.

The Great Glowing Coils Of The Universe is another collection of Welcome to Night Vale podcasts in writing. They're much like David Wong's books: funny, absurd and often surprisingly insightful. I still can't find time to listen to the podcasts, but somehow can make time to read them. Go figure.

Heroes without flaws are pretty annoying, as well as those that seem to stay alive and succeed by pure luck despite being stupid and incompetent. "The One" is the one I really hate. Most chosen ones and heroes destined for greatness make me want to stop playing if that's all the depth the character has. If the whole universe is at stake, it's even worse. The universe seems to be on the brink of destruction in too many movies and games and I hope writers would try to make the plot carry weight by some more subtle means instead of going the easy route so often.

Ryder from ME:Andromeda was mentioned before and is the the last one I remember being really annoying.

I also agree on avoiding series with annoying protagonists, but sometimes, like with ME:A, there's no way to know before buying the game. After starting the game I'll rather keep going and hate the hero rather than stop and/or refund.

Just finished the story missions and reached level 20 in Destiny 2 on the PC. A beautiful game, runs smoothly and feels great to play. I didn't turn into the loot goblin this time though and don't feel that much of a drive to keep playing for better gear. I'm still about halfway through Cuphead and The Fractured But Whole and Wolfenstein II is currently downloading on Steam. There's just so much great new stuff to play that I don't feel like playing public events and adventures for better gear. I'll definitely return to it later when there's less new stuff to play.

With all these awesome games coming out one would almost be inclined to be slightly hyperbolic and declare this to be the greatest time to be playing video games.

The dumbest way I've hurt myself by far must've been one time when I was working on something under my car. Something was properly stuck and I was in a pretty awkward position under the car, but I decided to try pulling the wrench with all my strength instead of moving to get a better grip. I realized my mistake in the split second between the wrench slipping from the nut and It slamming into my temple. Wasn't even mad. I remember just sitting by the car for a while laughing my ass off at my own stupidity with my head bleeding. Didn't need stitches or cause any permanent damage.

Ben was a bit more of an acquired taste that other recent hires, but I've grown to appreciate his humor and enthusiasm. Awesome job on the production side as well! The awkward music cues on the latest bombcast were actually fun.
