Top Ten games of 2015

These are the other games I got to this year but never made the cut.

Undertale

Never Played enough.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Never Played enough.

Heroes of the Storm

Didn't grab me like League or Dota 2 has.

Resident Evil Revelations 2

Only played the first Chapter, it's standard Resident Evil, which is getting a little thin.

Bloodborne

Never grabbed me, might play more if the mood takes me.

Broken Age

The lukewarm response tot he second part kept me from playing it.

Fallout Shelter

Was fun for the first few days but ended up more of a grind than I'd like, with little end goal.

Magic Duel: Origins

More Magic, it's fine but I've gotten into the proper card game this year that just feels better.

Evolve

Played a little, it's very meh.

Galak-z

Not played enough, will play this more, helps scratch that rogue like itch i get.

Armello

Nice, fun board game, would be better with Friends.

Massive Chalice

A fun stand in until X-Com 2 comes out.

Pac-man: 256

A nice way to kill time on my phone, enough if i am bad at it.

Mortal Kombat X

A shitty port and a short, lackluster story keep this from getting into the top ten.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Just misses out as I dropped it to play other games, definitely worth a shot.

List items

  • There isn't a wasted mission in this game. All the side quests are interesting and keep you engaged while struggling with the right thing to do. You have to be sharp and stay on your toes to catch everything in this game or you'll end up making some terrible my mistake (Keria Metz side quests come to mind). From start to finish it's a crazy ride but well worth the effort. I ended putting 200 hours into it, and that's before any dlc. A worth game of the year to be sure.

  • If the Story had been better, this would be number 1. I just can't give it to it given the rush feeling of the story. Entire threads are just left unresolved, which is a shame, because it's the game with the best gameplay this year. I can't say how much I enjoyed just going out to do side missions in this, you could make a whole game out of the Fulton mechanic. It's Kojima's last Metal Gear game (and with luck the last one ever), but to steal a quote...

    "This is good, isn't it?"

  • This is specifically for the Taken King expansion, which makes Destiny a game worth playing. I played the original last year and was very unimpressed. Give credit to Bungie though, they turned this around into something pretty great. I've found myself spending more and more time with it as time has past. It's definitely the game I go to play just now when I'm not in the mood for anything else.

  • If the Witcher hadn't come out when it did this would probably be higher, just because it ate into my time to play it. Still though, this is some great stuff, not as strong story wise as a lot of other obsidian games, however it's still serviceable and it does what it does really well.

  • It's a perfectly serviceable Fallout game, and that still makes it pretty fucking good.

  • It's kind of weird to say but i think this game might have been better if it didn't have combat, or at least a better combat than it had. That isn't the draw here, it's the card game that makes this interesting.

  • I really liked Hitman Go, but this takes it to a new level. it manages to feel like the old Tomb Raider games, which given it's nothing like them is a great achievement.

  • This is more for the time I've spent with it over the years than just this year. Great Stuff though, it's a lot of fun to make and blow up rocket ships...who knew?

  • It's a fun way to kill some time, it's better with Friends. Didn't like it as much as others, but good stuff.

  • I think this is me good on Batman Games for a while. I never got all the issues everyone else got but the rest of the game just doesn't live up to the first 2 games.
