The Walking Dead

I know this is a video game website and all, but I want to talk comics for a sec. Let me give a quick shout out to the makers of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard.
Kirkman's writing has continued to captivate me with the complexity of his characters, who struggle to retain their last shred of humanity while surviving the zombie apocalypse. He continues to pile bigger and tougher challanges on them, and by the time I got to the end of his latest trade (TPB #7), I had no idea how these people were going to survive.
As for the book's art, Adlard's style has really grown on me. It was a noticible change from Tony Moore's more defined style of the first trade, but I have come to appreciate his take on the book. He also draws zombies with insane detail. Adlard's style reminds me of Dillon's work on Preacher, and that's about the best compliment I can give it.
Anyway, if you like stories about all the fucked up shit that can happen during a zombie outbreak, pick up the first book and see what you think.
