I guess people who don't know the game as well seem to like Day9 more, where as I kinda find his commentating too dry.  Also, Day9 is Nick's (Tasteless) brother.

Most of RDR's amazingness comes in the way it feels.  And thats a hard thing to articulate.  Even a work colleague of mine, father of three whom never plays videogames actually finished RDR.

I totally forgot about Scott Pilgrim.  Anamananoguchi or whatever did a great job there.

Best of 2010

Wipeout: Best of 2010

1. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

People will still be playing this game for DECADES. It's single player campaign is just as fantastic as any challenger.

2. Mass Effect 2

Huge improvements over the first, story now complements the game instead of carrying it. Music a bit bland when compared to the first.

3. Red Dead Redemption

Best Rockstar game to date. Possibly best open world game to date.

4. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

A step forward from 2, if not a leap. Icing dudes with your own other dudes is fun.

5. Fallout: New Vegas

Again, more improvements this year in the form of iterations. Nothing beats exploring that wasteland, only the janky engine kinda lets it down.

6. Sid Meier's Civilization V

Flawed, lack of abstraction towards the end game, but oh so worthy of this list. So good.

7. Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Teamwork rewarded well. Great engine. DICE keeps getting better.

8. Darksiders

Secretly the best Zelda game since A Link to the Past.

9. Bayonetta

I think character action games are fucking stupid, but this one is fucking stupid in a special way that works.

10. BioShock 2

I think people who say this game isn't necessary are kinda crazy.

Yesss!  I want to say there was at least one other game with a killer soundtrack this year, but I can't really remember.

I was actually a little disappointed in the ME2 soundtrack because It stepped away from the uber scifi feel of ME1, whose soundtrack I thought was thuperdope.

The Wire is the best serialized thing that has ever aired.  Period.  Not to over sell it, but it will actually blow you while you're watching it.  It's that good.  I don't watch much TV otherwise except I concur with the Firefly suggestions, and you should really watch Farscape if you like sci fi at all.  Its very unique, has a very interesting world and the characters are great.

No one has mentioned Farscape yet, so I'm very disappointed in all of you, and hate your faces.

EdTwo likes Oz, and so do I.  I just don't think its as good as The Wire.
