I know it's a novelty, but I'd be interested in picking up more AR cards. The 3D photo (and for that matter, the sound app) included would get a lot more use. It's like Game Boy Camera all over again.

Anybody else having issues with the controls for the shooting in this game? This was mentioned in the Bombcast and normally, I don't have many problems with the Kinect controls. I paint the targets and make the motion for shooting, but unless I'm doing it wildly, it doesn't seem to register. I've done the first two levels and think the game is awesome, but if I can't figure this out, I'm going to have to play this game two levels at a time.

Man, it sure is a lot less calories for me to hit that toggle than to say classic. WE ARE LAZY

Catherine. That demo really underwhelmed me after all the hype. I went from thinking about doing the pre-order to just reading the reviews and watching gameplay footage. And I generally like Atlus games.

@Fizzy:Phelps gets fired from the squad after having a romantic trist with Elsa. His old war buddy Jack Kelso steps in to help unravel the conspiracy surrounding the Suburban Redevelopment Fund. Everyone directly involved with the fund is killed or stopped, the ringer for the bad guys is the flamethrower guy from Phelps and Kelso's unit, who kidnaps Elsa and runs into the sewers. Kelso kills him, catches up with Phelps and escapes, but not before Phelps dies in the sewers after having saved Elsa. The game ends in a funeral sequence where Roy Earle leads the eulogy and (more or less) Phelps's actions throughout the game don't really remove the corruption in LA.

I've never been interested in philosophy, but man, games these days are laying some heavy ideas on the player. More than "shoot that guy!"

Not the prettiest thing in the world, eh?

Are aesthetics really that important?

They're not inconsequential on a device that one's using out in public. If the 3DS is competing with devices like the iPhone, it needs all the help it can get (and I think it's a nice looking system without the add-on).

The worse part is the aesthetic downside is combined with an increase to the system's footprint, another battery to worry about and an even chance that the system's ergonomics will suffer. (if my DS Lite is any indication, they weren't that great to begin with).

I had never considered this before, but the 3DS as it stands is pretty pocket friendly. With the add-on, there's going to be that huge bulge which will not only be aesthetically bad, but also not as portable.

Unless they offer a library as deep as Steam's (or allowing Steam to work on the tablet, doubtful), this is going to be a big No Thank You. Maybe I don't know enough about PC gaming, but aren't there other hardware limitations, even if they do use OnLive-like tech to stream games that demand better horsepower?

The majority of the cheating I did was of the Gameshark/Game Genie variety, but I still got a few laughs out of big head mode. The inputs you talk about used to be some of the most popular sections of gaming mags. There were also a lot of fake codes, like Up+B to increase chances of capture in the original Pokemon.

Instantly jealous of the panels you went to and the swag you got. FFXIII-2 sounds great, hopefully they don't veer into X-2 territory with the amount of dresspheres. Paradigms were good enough. I need to go to PAX.

Let us know your thoughts on Romancing SaGa when you get back. I fell off the SaGa train hard after Unlimited SaGa.

Super Mario 64 was the first game that really blew my mind and was everything I had imagined a 3D Mario game to be like in my dreams.

Man, Kessler has been killing it lately. King of Beers! I mean interns!
