Kind of a boring plot, boring performances, and all around snoozer of a film. It just felt like it was made to set up the Hawkeye Disney+ show. After the Infinity War/Endgame stuff, it’s kind of hard to go back to the post Civil War story arch and really care about anything.
I can throw this one in the pile with Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 as one of the low tier MCU films.
I am a wee bit concerned about AEW's roster getting bloated. The only way I can see this working is if they rotate main events in PPVs a'la UFC. There will come a time when AEW talent starts getting disgruntled, and will go to WWE. I would not be surprised if WWE snipes someone like Wardlow in the future.
This was a good adaptation of the franchise. To my limited knowledge of the lore of the oringinal series, it follows the story somewhat well. It sort of creates a new character as the central protagonist, but he still has ties to the original lore, so it somewhat works. The plot of Mortal Kombat is kind of a dumb concept, and this movie just embraces it. It does not really over explain things, it just does what it does. Its a much more cohesive film than the 90s films. The movie ends with enough wiggle room to introduce a lot of new characters, so it does create a bit of anticipation for the next film. Overall I enjoyed it.
Nobody (2021) - 4/5
This film belongs in the leagues of modern action films the Equalizer and John Wick. It follows the trope of an unassuming man hiding a deceptively violent side a complicated past. The movie is exceptionally violent and brutal in its scenes, but the hook for Hutch Mansell is his duality of also being a good natured person., and can show forgiveness to people. Its often compared to John Wick, but I feeI it has a lighter tone at times, and is a bit more comical. Bob Odenkirk did a fantastic job.
No? I mean I don't feel any particular loss anymore. No shade towards those who are gone, but I am over it. I enjoy the bombcast still, and those who left that still make content elsewhere are relevant to me. I watch Abby and Dan on twitch every now and then, and I listen to Will & Brads podcast. If Vinny and Alex do something else Im sure it will grab my attention. I guess I just adapt quick to change.
I am never consistent with my choice of gender. Usually I will just swap when I do a second playthrough. I played a female Nord on my first playthrough of Skyrim, then I played as male imperial.
I played as male shep in ME, and I just started a new playthrough as fem Shep.
I play as a male character in the Shadowrun games, I sort of just stuck with the same dude to sort of feel like the games are all direct sequels.
I never play as 'myself' in games, so it boils down to whatever I randomly decide when I start the game.
