This looks excellent. Also it made me go brush my teeth and reminded me to schedule a checkup...

This is... really neat. I might pick it up for Switch.

By the way y'all, Italo Calvino is great and I highly recommend picking up "Cosmicomics" - it's a quick and very unique read. Here's a quote to whet your appetite and give you an idea of the glorious strangeness.

Now, you will ask me what in the world we went up on the Moon for; I’ll explain it to you. We went to collect the milk, with a big spoon and a bucket. Moon-milk was very thick, like a kind of cream cheese. It formed in the crevices between one scale and the next, through the fermentation of various bodies and substances of terrestrial origin which had flown up from the prairies and forests and lakes, as the Moon sailed over them. It was composed chiefly of vegetal juices, tadpoles, bitumen, lentils, honey, starch crystals, sturgeon eggs, moulds, pollens, gelatinous matter, worms, resist, pepper, mineral salts, combustion residue. You had only to dip the spoon under the sales that cover the Moon’s scabby terrain, and you brought it out filled with that precious muck.

It always makes me slightly sad to see the crew so down on Zelda. Ok, Skyward Sword deserves all the criticism - it's the only mainline Zelda game that I actually disliked. But all the others are goddamn classics.

This looks like my jam. Looks super crunchy. I love late 90's explosive, unrealistic blood & gore - the kind that just makes me laugh instead of making me feel ill. Looks completely unoriginal for the most part, but it looks like it delivers on what it promises. I love the world map idea - I mean, the structure of Doom-like games is pretty similar to Mario-like games in some ways, so why not?

Unfortunately, the movement in fast-paced FPS's make me dizzy for some reason as I've gotten older so I probably shouldn't play this.

Haven't played this yet, but I dove back into the original which I never finished for some reason. I forgot how good it is. The swinging and combat are both great fun. I also really like the wholesome, feel-good nature. Peter Parker and co. are just so darn good-hearted. It's a breath of fresh air - a nice reprieve from the real-life grimdark that is 2020.

@kaname: Yeah, that was very weird. I thought maybe that was a recording hiccup of some kind? The crew didn't seem to point it out. It would certainly be a bad look for a tech demo.

@sirdaemos: I mean, I think it looks pretty okay. I love 3D platformers so it's my kind of game. I'm just surprised to see it get such a good reception. It doesn't seem as creative as any of the 3D Marios, and they seemed pretty uninterested in those in the 3D all-stars quick look. I guess it's more a matter of the impressive tech here vs. the unpolished decade-old ports Nintendo put out.

Huh, don't quite get the level of enthusiasm for this game when it looks like a fairly generic platformer. In fact it looks a lot like Mario Sunshine, which Jeff hated (although I loved it.) Still, cool to hear that the controller is apparently so amazing. The haptic feedback is not something I even knew about until now and I'm curious to see what devs can do with it. I've been very skeptical that this generation will be able to bring anything new to the table aside from prettier graphics, so it's good to hear that PS5 seems to get glowing impressions. Maybe I'll get one after all... eventually.
