I'd like to think Vinny will start vomiting out content like Patrick has... but I tend to think Vinny is the type who will try to put out meaningful content, instead of just putting out anything like Patrick has been doing.

Patrick has been killing it with the content he has released, don't know what you don't like about his content.

@wonderva: The difference being those games are about competitive first person shooters only about eliminating the other team: its just another version of dodgeball. There's nothing gratuitous, graphic, or especially immoral about anything you do in those. DayZ and Rust are about surving and theoretically if people weren't assholes you could still play the game, have fun, and NEVER have to kill another person or take their shit. DayZ and Rust encourage assholes, trolls, and the like to be themselves. I would agree that the game's never force a person to be an asshole, but they reward you more for being one.

Let me preface by saying I've never played Rust/DayZ, they both seem fun premise alone, but I just hear that the community is bad. But if its true that in DayZ and Rust that the real enemy is online players, not zombies, should player feel different when killing other online/human players compared to the AI in games such as CoD or human players online in CoD?

Saw this obviously click-bait article headline on my twitter feed: Why Online Games Turn Players Into Psychopaths

Before I could reply, I saw someone running up behind her. It was JB. I was about to tell him everything was OK when he started shooting. He hit her twice in the back. She ran away and died minutes later. JB was laughing. Laughing.

“Why’d you do that?” I asked. I’ve known JB since were six years old. I’ve never seen him harm anyone.

“I don’t know,” he replied. “It was funny.”

Our perspectives on that event couldn’t have been more different. In my mind, I was interacting with a real person who needed help, while JB just saw her as just another target in an elaborate shooting gallery.

Of course, I know JB wouldn’t have gunned down a stranger in real life. But it got me thinking about people who would.

I find it interesting that the author targeted DayZ and Rust rather than games such as CoD, Counter-Strike, GTA, etc that involves 'more killing'. It seems like the author isn't criticizing games for turning people into psychopaths (as the headline says) but it just commentating on the fact that when no one is watching, people kill each other for just enjoyment in games as DayZ and Rust.

What are your opinions on the mindset of people who often just do this in these kind of games?

For me, the two big MVPs of the stream were @rorie and @ltsquigs. Rorie was very good in keeping the audience engaged since he seemed pretty wide away (might have helped that there was no webcam on him) was just a funny guy - even when he tried not to be. The highlights were that EPIC spelunky run (even though he had beaten it on VITA a few times, I think he said was new to PC version), the Outlast run that he couldn't focus on hiding since he was talking about this past, and his total domination of Scene It when he playing against Danny.

Ian's Lifeguard play was so engaging and kept me away during the second half of Danny/Alexis/Ian (I too am on the west coast). I found myself cheering for Ian as I did for TeamBrad mile high club. His determination to beat a crappy, total BS game was fantastic.

I have a related question:

If I am an annual subscriber, when my membership automatically renews, do I automatically get the $15 voucher, or do I have to buy a membership separately again?

To update I got my poster today. I think the Giantbomb Emporium email and/or social imprints communication may not be the best with the USPS. I'll summarize the shipping process for me for those still waiting. I chose first class mail which typically is for 2-3 days from the day its shipped (plus weekends)

Thursday 3/13 - Got email from Giant Bomb store saying my poster was shipped and I got a tracking number

Kept checking on the tracking number for few days to see its status (I am going on vacation so I wanted to get poster before I left)

Tuesday 3/18 - Tracking on USPS's website got updated to "Electronic Billing Information Received"

It stuck on this status until today, so I was expecting to get the poster next week or later

Friday 3/21 - As I was about to leave for vacation I saw the tube outside. I then refreshed the USPS site and got alot of status updates saying that the poster arrived at sorting facility, then left it, then out for delivery etc. So I guess USPS doesn't update their tracking service right away with statuses.

After reading these posts, I was afraid about getting a damaged poster but my poster tube had no dents, and the poster itself is in perfect condition. Really enjoy it, now I am off to buy a frame. Thanks @rorie!

I played it when it first came out on the DS, and at the time I thought it was the most fun GTA game next to San Andreas.

I got an email saying my order shipped last Thursday the 13th, but when clicking the tracker via USPS, I get the same message of "Electronic Shipping Info Received". Weird since I live in Southern California and usually it only takes 2-3 days to get stuff that I order from Giantbomb. I wonder if I got a damaged one and they will replace it, thats why I haven't gotten my poster yet.

Mine was like that until yesterday, when it changed to shipped.

But I got USPS first class mail so that means 2-3 days shipping, and I got the e-mail saying my order was shipped on Thursday 3-13-14, and it's been saying the "Electronic Shipping Info Received" since 3-18-14. So I think there may have been a mishap.
