I like the look - its light effects are really nice. I was wondering though - does the fox know what’s up and the language barrier is just on the player? Is this The Quiet Man, but cuter?

I liked it, but I hope they don’t telegraph each other’s actions so much from here on out - at least when it comes to making decisions or seeing events. From what I remember, not knowing what the other is doing or seeing goes a long way in this series. Abby’s reaction to what Vinny does at the end is the best example :D

Scene: A Nintendo-Hudson drinking party in 1985.

THE PRESIDENT OF HUDSON: Well, right now we’re working on a new fantasy project that offers the experience of drunk gaming to the stone cold sober. The character runs from left to right but there’s no scrolling so you can’t see what’s ahead, and there’s no point in planning your moves anyway because the game’s tempo turns on a dime. Also, there’s long stretches where you have to constantly run and jump - screen after screen after screen - followed by a straight-up pit. We call it Descending Into Madness Wino Joe, and it’s garbage.

(sees that no one is listening)

So, uh...You know what would sell great on the PC-88? Super Mario!

VERY DRUNK HIGH-LEVEL NINTENDO EXEC: You’re so right! Here’s a legally binding contract.

PRESIDENT: Thanks! (Dashes off towards pay phone)

Slow dissolve to 35 years later...

It's nearly over.

@alex My only advice apart from maybe finding Kamurocho's Dragon & Tiger near the Empty Lot - if that's still possible - is to go to the pharmacy and get the best medicine, and stick around during and after the credits.

Oh, and @vinny - you're right, Makoto could totally just take a bullet to the head, but after everything that's happened that would be way too merciful. Have her bleed out instead.

@sgtsphynx: Here's her IMDb. Anything jump out at you? Or, should I say, "ANYTHING?" ^_^

...I now see why my habit of only speaking in single-word sentences with rising intonation has ruined my life.

Thanks a lot for the mention, and thanks to everyone who checked out my posts and left kind words. I wrote that my latest post would be my last for a while, but I already have one or two ideas for the future. I hope you all enjoy whatever comes next. Thank you again!

This series has been amazing so far. I'm with what many others have already said (R1 to lock-on, start getting medicine because things are about to take a turn, etc.), but here's a few other things that I hope are interesting, at least:

@alex: You're right about "-kun" being a term of endearment between friends, but since we're talking about Erran-kun I should add that it's also used for male pets.

There's actually quite a few places you haven't seen yet; I'd say go a bit slower through town. Speaking of the shrine, although stocking up on Staminan would be a great idea now, eating at restaurants and using a number of food items will get you some easy CP.

Also, I second @blacklagoon in having a few Mandarin oranges on hand (don't eat them). I tried it out and it was a real treat. Thanks for the tip, BL!

@vinny: You mentioned that Fei Hu was like Donatello with the pole. Hidenari Ugaki, the voice of Majima, was Donatello in the original cartoon's Japanese dub. :)

@danryckert and anyone else interested: There are a lot of Yakuza soundtracks on CD, but they're not the easiest to find nowadays. However, Sega's been making good use of iTunes Japan and Yakuza 0 / 龍が如く0 is available in two volumes. "Side A" is mostly battle- and story-related music (including the Fei Hu training piece "Tiger Flute"), while "Side B" is full of music from the side content (karaoke and Maharajah Disco songs, Pocket Circuit music) and is bookended by the Substory guitar twangs. No Waluigi though, sadly.

Getting an iTunes account in another country is a bit of a hassle, but if you've got an email address that isn't already connected to an existing account these links can help...

One last thing: the karaoke singers are indeed the voice actors. Here's Takaya "Kiryu" Kuroda and his band Goodfellas. Keep up the great work, guys.
