5/5 - I think like most people, the card-battling aspect of this game wasn't my favorite. In fact, for the first act, I was often more frustrated than enjoying the game. But as you progress through the game and experience all of the unique settings and the insane twists and turns, I started to marvel at the experience of Inscryption. And to top it all off, my actual favorite part of Inscryption was reading about all of the ARG puzzles, and the ludicrous lengths people went to solve them.

    - Art style is cute and wonderful

    - Getting a high score feels amazing

    - The jumping and bouncing are satisfying as hell

    - The puzzle room is great too

    5/5

    - Perfect co-op game

    - Fun combat + great platforming puzzles

    - Love the fighting game style combo system and combat

    - The luchador theme is perfect

    4/5

    - Simulation loop is so great

    - It makes it hard to put down

    - The resource management aspect feeds really well into the core gameplay loop

    - So easy to lose the hours

    - Combat is a bit simple, barely died at all, combat doesn't really evolve

    4/5

    - I'm an idiot, I didn't figure out the rewind mechanic fully

    - I think the investigative feeling I got from Barlow's earlier games is more gratifying

    4/5

    - Everything about Ethan Winters is so silly. The delivery of his dialogue is so cheesy and the lines he says are just so funny

4/5 - I've played Pokemon games since the very beginning, so it was a lot of fun to go back to my past and play another reimagining of the first generation games coated with a layer of modern mechanics, of which my favorite was the ability to see all of the wild Pokemon out in the overworld. Being able to avoid wild Pokemon and only encounter ones that I actually want is a game changer.

    4/5

    - Game went on for too long at the end

    - Combat scenarios became repetitive

4/5 - The fact that Psychonauts 2 came out as good as it is with its crazy development history is a marvel in and of itself. It's such an inventive game, and I was always looking forward to whatever weird world I would be thrust into next. The platforming and combat were perfectly serviceable, but they were never the main draw for me.

    4/5

    - Looks great, visuals are stunning

    - Some of the dialogue is legitimately funny, especially Drax's

    - Somewhat buggy, especially during the huddles

    - Combat gets a little repetitive

    - There is A LOT of talking

    - The choices really do feel like they change what happens in the game

    - I wish there were a bit more of character specific missions a la Mass Effect 2

    4/5

    - Love the exploration

    - Art style, music, and general design is fantastic

    - I think the combat doesn't hold up its own end of the bargain

    - Didn't feel just quite right, maybe it's because the sword is so stubby

    3/5

    - Visuals are excellent, I love the art style

    - Nostalgia is a helluva drug

    - Soundtrack is kickass radical

    - Game Pass continues to be the best deal in all of gaming

    3/5

    - Controls and platforming weren't as tight as I would've liked it

    - No fast travel discouraged exploration

    - The difference between jumping while not moving and jumping while moving was annoying as hell

    3/5

    - The story of Lem and Mina carried me through the game

    - The final segment is very touching and the music kicked in at the perfect time

    - I think moving around the map and selecting the various nodes was way more annoying and finicky than it should have been

    - So many of the stories are so disparate and you have such long periods of time in between progressing them that you sometimes forget story beats and characters when you resume them

    - This ain't no Disco Elysium

3/5 - I really like Alex as a character and the setting of True Colors. But I think the ending falls flat, because the climactic events of its conclusion are almost exactly the same no matter what you do. The only differences are really contained in the epilogue, where you decide what you really want to do with your life, which I thought was pretty disappointing. And finally, I felt like True Colors started to almost become a parody of the Life is Strange games. Maybe it's just because I've played too many of these type of games, but in the first 5 minutes of True Colors, you're already presented with the option of standing next to a bridge while the game slowly pans across beautiful vistas with slow acoustic guitar playing. I practically rolled my eyes.

3/5 - The first 2 Emily is Away games hold a special place in my heart. They were such a good window into what is like to being a teenager in the early 2000s, and they did a surprisingly excellent job into taking into account player choice and presenting that back into your face often in unexpected ways. However, for the third entry, I don't think they handle player choice as well as they do in the second game especially, and it feels very game-y that you have to replay the game multiple times to receive the "good" endings.

3/5 - This game has a serious difficulty spike near the end that almost made me quit the game. But there's no denying the sheer amount of content in the Gold/Silver generation of Pokemon, and I can see why these remain some of people's favorites.

    2/5

    - The difficulty spike in the Elite Four is just ridiculous

    - 99.9% of the game is braindead easy, and then last 4 battles is way hard

    - Every trainer has such low level Pokemon, and then the Elite Four has way higher level Pokemon

    - The chibi art style didn't do much for me

    - The movement felt weird because they were trying to shoehorn in the cardinal direction movement into an analog stick type of moment
