I just finished the game as well, and we definitely share the same endearment towards the franchise and this third game in particular. I will admit I got a bit misty-eyed too when Layton had to say goodbye. Hats off to the guys at Level-5, they sure know how to make not only engaging puzzles, but they also tie them together with an even more engrossing story.
It's at this point I get super anxious for them to officially announce plans to localize the next games in the franchise. No doubt the 3DS game will make it over here, but I hope that the Spectre's Flute does get priority. The continuity must be preserved!
