Seriously, I cried. They kill off two orphan kids that shelter and feed you shortly after the start of the game. (Spoiler) One turns out to have survived and returns super badass. I loved this game. Includes time-skip to become adult, and weird sim-fairy-town minigame, what more could you ask for?

I've played em all, and 7 is the best. This is the hardest series to sum up, but here you go: 8,T,12,4,9,6 are the best after 7 and in that order, any not listed are just OK or worse. If you disagree you're wrong, sorry but its the truth.
Yep. In some ways its hard to choose between 3 and 4. But 4 was so comparatively tight, it was like a master-class in storytelling, character development, and pacing. Many of the assets for P3/4 come from Nocturne, which is a decent game in its own right, but too unpolished, almost unfinished seeming, also too quiet and desolate, though atmospheric.
The concept of secret mission objectives and becoming a secret agent of the Emperor was just so cool. Badass medals and glowing tattoos!!
Best Mario game; beautiful. Super Mario World is good. Mario RPG is good. 64 is best.
Maybe not the best game ever. MAYBE. Re Majora's Mask: It was a really good game if you could get passed the first section.. but the whole game was a lot tougher than OoT.

Best Sonic game, great music. Stardust Speedway (Bad Future, US), nuff said. Next best Sonic games are Spinball and Mean Bean Machine.

N64 is best version, stfu. Skipped classes and played this in "senior lounge" in high school, friends whipped it out occasionally for years after -- they could not match my Fox, or my Link, mwahahaha.

The 3rd game was really well made and beautiful for the PS2. Xenosaga was super interesting.. I wish they made more games like these.
I might not like what this game became, and it may have ruined MMOs for all time. But this game is Important (with a capital 'I').

Diablo II was great and this expansion made it the kind of game you could pick up even now and sink a couple dozen to a couple hundred hours in. The first Diablo was also great, and Battle.net exists because of it.
You know the twist was pretty cool. Dave is totally wrong about this game. I loved it. KOTOR2 was ok, but it was too clear in spots that it was unfinished.
Making slaves of your companions by betraying them and stealing their souls was pretty awesome.

I liked DA2 overall, even welcomed some of the streamlining, and I would probably sooner return to DA2 than Origins because of the time investment required, but I'd like to see a return to form for this franchise in the future.
