If I cared about Call of Duty anymore I might think about complaining about the service and the endless paid map packs...  But I don't, so no, I'm not buying Call of Duty Elite, or MW3, or anything CoD related.

@Styl3s: Playing a game on a console is like playing with both of your hands chained together. Playing on a PC is like breaking those chains. PC gaming is unhinged gaming, the ultimate in choice and flexibility. Whether or not you care, you cannot deny that it is better.

How so? it's MY preference.

It doesn't matter what your preference is, the experience can always be better on a PC. Better fidelity, better controls (You can use literally any controller you want, including a Wii remote if you're crazy.), better framerate, can play it on a monitor or a TV, any way you want. What you prefer is to live in your own little bubble. That's fine. No one's gonna pop it for you, don't worry.

But we don't care that you prefer consoles. I prefer not to spend a "small" amount of cash on the actual system and then pay out my ass for games unless I feel like waiting for a year after release. Oh, and those lovely proprietary peripherals, man, a 250GB hard drive for only $50! What a deal! I can get 2TB for $100 and use it for all my games, not just my 360 ones. You don't have to like reality, though. Lord forbid you "lug around" a PC rather than set up your living room properly, like someone who lives in the fucking 21st century.

Yes it does matter, experience is based on preference and the person, just because your experience is better on the PC doesn't make it so for other people, just because YOU think keyboard/mouse is better at controls doesn't make it a fact, that control option is based purely on preference and opinion, it's stupid pc elitist like you that give gamers a bad name, get off your high fucking horse and just enjoy games, i live in the 21st century, i PREFER console gaming, i have a BETTER experience on consoles, if you think otherwise well then i don't give a shit because you are a random person on the internet who means nothing to me, doesn't effect me and you don't have a right or the ability to tell me what my experience is, you can't tell me i will have a better experience on PC when i have a high end gaming PC and PREFER my gaming on consoles ].

It's all PERSONAL PREFERENCE and OPINIONS, i am sick and tired of you high horse pc elitist nerds, it's people like you that make me want to stay away from all video game forums period because you people you are all superior and that if it isn't PC gaming its complete garbage and the only way to play is on a PC, bullshit. BULL-SHIT.

My reality is called real life, i have a life, i don't get a lot of time to play video games and when i do i enjoy my console gaming more, if you can't comprehend the definition of personal preference or opinions then i feel sorry for you, one day you will grow up.

Clearly you have a life and are super-busy, writing up essays on why you prefer consoles to argue on the internet and all.  ;)  I never said mouse and keyboard was better (Though it is infinitely better for shooters, regardless of opinion, because thumbsticks have physically limited movement.) I said the control OPTIONS were better, as in, I can play a game with a PS3, 360, Wii, or PC gamepad of my choice.  Or a flight yolk or a racing wheel or anything else.  You're so angry about this, why?  Am I making console gaming less enjoyable for you?  Are us "PC nerds" ruining your coolness factor?  Because I can clearly tell, you're one pretty cool dude.

God I can't stand EA apologists.
How about Valve slappies? Can you stand them?  It's hilarious you think Valve is some altruistic, only-out-for-the-gamers endeavor, compared to EA's evil empire. Gabe playing dumb about "what EA wants" is just as much bullshit as all that nonsense you accuse EA of "always" putting out there. Gabe is just as big a huckster as any talking head in the game industry. The fact that you're suckered in by it shows that at least he's doing a good job, at least.
Let me put it in simple terms for you:

Valve has earned my respect.  Gabe has earned my respect.  They release amazing games on their amazing service that gives me extremely discounted games in an insanely easy manner to obtain.  Their customer service has been the best in the industry EVERY TIME I'VE USED IT.  Gabe himself has replied to several of my e-mails, all of which have been as far from business-related as possible, he reads every single e-mail he gets and responds to a massive amount of them.  You can say whatever the fuck you want, but I base what I say off experience, not off hearsay.

EA, at its absolute best, has been hit-and-miss with me.  Their games are of varying quality (They're not making Battlefield, Dice is.) and their customer support is consistently dogshit.  Just the other day they refused to allow me to change my registered e-mail address (And I had proof that I was both the account owner and receipts for all the games, all of which were purchased on STEAM, and which EA cockblocked my access to because you need your EA account.) because to do so is "impossible," even though you can do so right on their website...  but only if you have your login info.  Having proof of account ownership is clearly not a secure way to verify an account to them, but a simple login/pass is!  Awesome.   Can't wait to see if this carries over to Origin -- OH WAIT it does because my EA account was linked or merged or something with my Origin account.  So I can now access none of it.

What set all this off, you ask?  The crappy e-mail account I linked to hotmail got hacked (I don't like EA spam or any spam.) and because that's all you need to change your password for EA's service, that also got changed.  Now, before you go off on how I probably got myself hacked, it was external, nothing else on my system was touched aside from my EA account and my e-mail account.  Not even sure what the fuck they'd do with an EA account unless they were just fucking with me.  I use the same credentials (e-mail) for Steam and that didn't get touched, though I changed the verified e-mail just to be safe.  They helped me just fine even though I was asking the SAME EXACT THING I asked EA.

That's why I fucking hate EA and you can slobber on their cock if you want.  They're consistently shit and have a poor reputation for a reason.

It is nice. I just wonder what they gain from it. Maybe they're just nice dudes.

See, Valve has this really crazy idea that if you're a loyal customer you might keep coming back, rather than bending you over and fucking you in the ass to make a quick buck.  Treating your customers like decent people is a seriously underrated thing in the gaming industry.  Customer loyalty is one of the most valuable assets you can have.
Well that's mostly true. But fact is there is a shop in the game where you can play dress up with your bots. They're probably equally hoping that, through your loyalty - and by them giving you situations where you can show your bot off - that you'll buy stuff from their shops, such as flags, skins, and different animations.
Well, yeah, that's like...  completely obvious?  They still want to make money, but they don't want you paying for content.  If you wanna buy a hat for your robot, it's not gonna change the game.  That's the whole point.  No shitty dollar $15 map packs that will splinter the community, y'know?

God I can't stand EA apologists.  But fine.  How about the fact that Gabe has no idea what the fuck EA is talking about?  http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/18/gabe-newell-on-disappearing-ea-steam-games-and-origin-yeah-ive-tried-it/

“I don’t really know what they’re referring to by that,” he replied. “In general with Steam and Steam partners its incumbent on us to create value for those partners, whether it’s EA or Ubisoft or Take Two or any of the other developers who are using it, so that’s our goal, to create enough value so that is makes sense for partners to use the technology, the tools, services and community that we’ve created.

“We’re going to keep trying to do that with EA and trying to convince them that it’s worth it to have their games on Steam.”

In short, EA is lying.  Like they always do, like they always have, like they always will.  Jesus fucking Christ this isn't something new.  EA has been full of shit for 10+ years.

  • EA said: "Our games were pulled because of our DLC distribution methods." Valve said: "The DLC distribution methods are against the Steam ToS." The truth: The games were removed because of their distribution of DLC in the game itself.
So please tell me and explain how EA is lying. I'd love to hear it.

@TPoppaPuff: Funny that you say Valve is the greedy one, yet EA is the only publisher in existence making these claims.  It also turns out that EA is the only publisher trying to launch a platform to sort of compete against Steam, and they were real quick to throw Valve under the bus, weren't they?  Commenting preemptively and all.  It's almost as if they planned it so they could get a lot of word-of-mouth about Origin out via lots of news articles like this one.

The writing's on the wall, you're just choosing not to read it.  Claiming that out of Valve and EA that Valve is the greedy one.  I mean, fucking Christ almighty, Valve doesn't re-release TF2 every year and shut down the previous games' servers so you're forced to buy the next installment to play online.  Madden, anyone?

Fuck CoD.  Hell, the console versions of BF3 will have dedicated servers.  So fuck off and die, Activision.

@Xshinobi: You don't have to have Steam running.  You can just play the game from the game folder.  Steam hating is like WANTING PC gaming to die.  It's great for the consumer AND the game developer.
