I have such low faith in the European releases of Arcsys and Atlus that I just import the American versions. I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

As for your fear about games being unavailable for download in an all-digital future, you're absolutely right. I don't trust this industry's ability to plan without first considering the long-term implications for both themselves and the consumers. There really should be provisions to the effect of "once something has been put up for sale on the PSN (or equivalent) store, they will not be removed", or something similar that would protect the consumer's interests.

I'm ok with the UK timings, but I rarely go to sleep before 2AM so I'm an unusual case.

@artisanbreads: there's too much RNG present for that sort of thing.

Having said that, I do wonder about Drew's ability to consistently roll a 1.

Turning off Vsync got rid of a lot of the issues for me. The game went from the 30-60fps range to 50-90+fps. Forcing Vsync from the Control Panel then got rid of the screen tearing, and the game settled at around 55-60fps. This is on an i7 2600k, GTX 970, 8GB RAM.

My setup: i5 2500k, nvidia 970 and 8gb ram, all running stock. With default settings (most on high/very high, tessalation high, txaa on, msaa x 2, anistropic x 16, 2.3gb vram used) i get about 90fps stable just running around the starting point. I tried to max the "standard gfx settings" (didnt touch the few advanced options) and it quickly dumped to ~30 fps.

Ive only played like an hour but i have no complaints, although with a new 970 i didnt expect to. Looks great too and run smooth both with and without vsync (surprisingly smooth on vsync, actually my prefered setup). Seems like it takes something insane to max it out tho, dunno if thats bad optimisation or great scalability.

Edit: Oh i did actually run into a few bugs, namely the benchmark tool that triggers mission state and launches the singleplayer campaign every time :S. Also, the keybinding seems a bit iffy, it uses the same key for several things but its not always i get to bind a new key to the same two things. Sometimes it works, sometimes it complaints.

Not a bugfree release but performance seems good as long as you dont expect to max it out.

My setup is very similar to yours, only my processor is an i7 2600k. My experience has been similar too, especially with the weird frame rate drops out of town. I've heard lowering the post fx to normal should result in 60fps throughout. I'll try that out later tonight.

UPDATE: Changing the post fx had no effect whatsoever on the frame rate. Weird.

A friend recommended I watch the Persona 4 Endurance Run since I loved the game so much. I've stayed since.

Absolutely. I spend most of my time playing older games, and I pick up the odd new game that catches my attention.

Blazblue itself is more beginner friendly than you would expect. When Calamity Trigger released, they gave a bonus disc with information regarding combos and strategies. Since you're playing as Jin, this video is the one you want. Experiment generally and see how you feel with the character.

If you want to get more advanced information, I would recommend checking out the dustloop forums.

I don't know why but I figured Persona 5 would be out this year. Am I wrong?
