Getting a new computer.

Finally, after several years, I am building a new computer. 16 gigs of ram, a 2 gig GTX 560 ti card, a quad-core. I can not wait to play some awesome PC games I couldn't run on this horrible rig.

What do you need 16 gigs of RAM for? Really no need to get more than 8 for gaming. And why a 2 gig 560 Ti? You'd be better off getting a 570 instead, IMO.

@SlasherMan: I'd say the 560 Ti gives more for less. 570 is stronger but not enough to warrant a higher price point if he's low on cash.

Oh, and:@Xevabis: A quad core isn't really very descriptive. Which one did you get?

@Xevabis: I'm in the middle of building mine right now, I just got the motherboard and the i7 3770k from microcenter and I have a GTX 670 incoming.

Why are you getting 16 gigabytes of RAM? I'm actually gonna use mine to edit video along with playing games, but if you're not I'd suggest only getting 8 gigabytes and trying to move up from a 560, go for a 570 at the very least.

@TobbRobb: How so? The cheapest 2-gig 560 Ti is $270 on Newegg. The cheapest 570 is $280. No reason whatsoever not to go for a 570 when it's only a $10 difference.

@SlasherMan: Oh, american prices. Yeah if the prices are as you say, 100% agree, get a 570.

Haven't checked in a week or so, but swedish prices had a big gap, kinda assumed it was universal.

I already bought the video card when it was on sale, so yeah. the ram is for video editing as well as gaming. and it's an intel quad core 2.8 GHZ.

Agreed. Especially with next-gen consoles coming soon the 560 TI might not be able to max everything in the near future.
