Strangest Reasons for Replaying a Game

Fairly self-explanatory, and more for my own reference than anything, these are games that I've replayed for near-pointless (though sometimes specifically point-based) reasons that made sense at the time.

List items

  • Needed "Conversationalist" achievement, which is about 95% of the way in.

  • Accidentally saved after the point of no return, and missed the "Krogan Ally" achievement, a good 10 hours.

  • Didn't think to punch a clown for "Party Pooper."

  • I'd already beaten it, but I was watching the Endurance Run and figured Jeff and Vinny doing 5 hours a week was too slow, so I did 100 in 2 weeks.

  • I couldn't remember why I quit before the end of the game the last time I'd rented this, so I rented it again. I remembered before I got the end, and still haven't finished it.

  • To refresh myself on the story of FFX-2.

  • Because I'd bought the Pets and Vacation expansion packs, and both of those were dropped when I got the Sims 2, so I had to go back to get my sim puppy on.

  • I wanted to see what the "Marry Anora yourself" option would yield. Nothing.

  • This actually applies to GH2, 3, and WT. Because beating the game on Expert didn't unlock stuff for beating easy, medium, or hard.

  • Specifically the endless setlist 2. I went for "Bladder of Steel" my first run through, but my guitar controller somehow froze, and when I disconnected and reconnected it, the game counted that as a pause, even though it was online multiplayer which can't be paused...
