The Joys of Gaming Pt. 1 (My History)

I remember the first few games I played.  Oh, how I enjoyed the likes of Duck Hunt and Nintendo Track and Field.  Now, here we are, generations later, and we've gone from mustached plumbers saving princesses and simple baseball to soldiers tracking down terrorists and collecting monsters so that we can battle each other.  My, how the times have changed.  That's right, it's nostalgia time.

I have been witness to five generations of game consoles in my nineteen years here.  During each generation, I at least tried each of them out, if not downright own them.  I've seen the rise and fall of Sega, the emergence of Microsoft into the console wars, and Sony come up from underdog to being one of the most dominant brands in the realm of gaming.  And of course, each game system has their own little amazing game library.  I always tried out as many of them as I could, and I try my best to enjoy them.

Looking back, most of my life was occupied with games.  Whenever I wasn't sleeping or at school, I was at one of the TVs at home, playing one of the games I had for the system currently hooked up to it.  Whenever I got food, I brought it with me when I played my game.  Games were my life and obsession, and even years later, they remain an integral part of my lifestyle.  They even influenced what college I am currently at and will graduate from.

Well, that's the history I have with games in general.  Next will be a more in-depth look at those game I played.
