UGH fought a 3500LP Bison who ruined me, not just in the match. I have lost every match since, lost over 300 LP since and got demoted from Ultra Bronze. I know I should just stop as I am severely on tilt but I can't.

I have learned in the sub 2000 LP range the I should not judge skill level by the amount of points. Have recently fought 600 LP players who shut me down completely and played super smart, and also 1500 LP players who just jumped in, cr.MKxxHadoken every.single.time. Just fought a 980LP Ryu who straight up gave up midway through the last round, all they did was throw the occasional fireball and throw totally random HP Shoryus (not even on wake up, like as footsies).

@i_stay_puft: The whole CM Punk thing is a joke, guy has 0 pro MMA fights and is fighting a 2-0 fighter...in the UFC. Lesner was an accomplished wrestler and had some MMA experience before entering into the UFC, Punk is just some older celebrity who is trying to fulfill a dream. Good for Punk that he gets to do that but it is a massive blow to the UFC's integrity when they hold fights like this, especially when their main competitor is making it their calling card to do dumb fights. Especially when they held the fight with Gall and Jackson, where if Gall won he got the fight but if Jackson did then Jackson didn't. Jackson is a journalist too, he used to fight but hadn't fought MMA in a while. I am happy with a lot of stuff the UFC is doing right now but the Punk stuff is just ridiculous.

Looks like Nate gets the fight, good for him getting the pay day. Weird to see it at 170, sure it is because Nate wouldn't be able to make 155 but it is still a little strange. Connor is going to look jacked this fight, barely going to be cutting any weight and he has been bulking up for Lightweight. Guess this likely means RDA vs Connor for the Lightweight strap at 200 if RDA heals quickly enough, that or Connor jumps right to Lawler for 200. If Connor does indeed fight for the Welterweight belt then it seems his talk of taking the three belts and walking away will likely be true. Impossible to defend 3 belts so he would be forced to drop at least one of them and then what is the point at still fighting? You made history as the biggest star ever in the UFC, if he wins both the other belts then that is no debate he easily eclipses Silva/Rousey/GSP/Jones.

Really don't want to see Nate versus Connor, just going to be a circus and a domination by either fighter. I don't see a fun fight happening between the two. Connor would likely win stand up, Nate's boxing is great but Connor's footwork and accuracy make his already powerful left hand into a terrifying weapon. Nate's better option is to take the fight to the ground and submit Connor, which either will end it immediately or end up with most of the fight being Nate trying to look for a sub. Also I don't think it is a good fight for Nate to take in general. It will be a huge pay day but not help his chances at getting a title shot, as while Connor is a big name he hasn't fought anyone in Lightweight and both Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson are more deserving of title shots before him in my opinion.

Would be way more interested in a Cerrone catch weight fight. He is only at 174 right now so all they would have to do is set the catch weight at like 162 and then he has to cut 11 pounds which he could totally do safely in time. He is already in fighting shape and took pretty much zero damage against Oliveira. They already have beef from the Go Big press conference that the UFC could use to market the fight and while Cerrone could likely blow up Connor on the ground he would make for an interesting fight standing up. His height and length will be a real challenge for Connor who is not used to fighting taller opponents. We know Connor has massive holes in his game when it comes to wrestling(tougher to tell with that as his only big fight showing that was Mendes and Mendes takes down pretty much everyone) and BJJ. In my opinion it would be way more interesting to see Connor tested on the feet.

Uriah Faber is also campaigning for a shot and that would be interesting as well. He is already at Lightweight and they did the entire season of TUF poking fun at each other. Only real issue with that is Faber is likely next in line to fight Cruz and if Connor beats him (which would almost certainly be by KO or a looong fight) then he would have to wait a while before that fight could happen.

As much as it would suck for the UFC and really suck for Holm and Tate I kind of hope they just delay the fight. It means the big plans of having Connor either defend his FW belt or challenge Lawler for the WW belt at UFC 200 would probably fall apart, but the UFC has plenty of stars to fight at 200.

@l1ghtn1n Good games, couldn't handle the pressure from Karin and Ken. Still amazed I managed to react with the light tatsu to the chain throw in that last set. Got lucky on the last hit too, thought I was done for when I saw Birdie dive in. Your fireball game with Ken was totally on point, really wasn't sure on how to get in with Gief at all (probably just the classic "walk forward, block" but where is the fun in that?).

@zella: I tried a similar thing a couple of days ago, there's no way to actually search for a lobby or join one directly without an invite so even if they know the info you're not able to get someone.

Wow that's dumb, I keep wanting to like and use battle lounge but the game is making it tough

Going to be chilling in a battle lounge for the next hour until Far Cry Primal unlocks, Fighter ID is ZacBroski and password will be 9876, if anyone wants to have a few matches. Open to all skill levels

Nice little write up. Excellent Adventures is also what got me to really get into Street Fighter, and fighting games in general. For being someone that never won a match online to getting to Bronze in SFV at this point that really says you have learned a lot then. There are likely a ton of players between 0 and 2000 League Points, myself included, and you likely had to match make with a lot of those below 1,500. That means you must have won at least a few matches against people who have a decent idea of the game and not just brand new players.

I am sure watching a lot of high level play from tournaments, and occasionally on Excellent Adventures when Mike isn't saying "Watch this!", helped with your general knowledge of what to do. That shows too with you already knowing some bad habits, ones that a ton of players have.

I really hope other people who are interested also take the time to learn and play in SFV as I think it is a great game to learn with. Yeah it may have no trials and pretty much no tutorial but it allows for combos that feel fun and are not impossibly hard to pull off like SFIV. The replay system too allows for you to study yours and other people's play and get better.

Slowly but surely getting better with my stick, footsies and fireball game are getting a lot more tight. Still over moving the stick often but less than before and getting more reliable DPs. Crawled my way back up from having like 700LP to now got to Ultra Bronze with 1550. For now happy if I can stay above 1000. I keep telling myself not to care about points but I mean they are precious and must be stolen and guarded at all costs.

Connections and matchmaking have been really solid for me so far the this weekend. Yay for living on the West Coast with decently good internet I guess. Set the connection threshold for 4-5 on ranked and usually find matches pretty quick and very rarely run into noticeable lag.

One thing I have loved about SFV: Bison is no longer a demon of mine. I just couldn't get the hang of fighting him in 4 but now I mainly find myself losing to Bison's who are just good players or the CPU when I attempt Hard Survival and it does insane V-Trigger combos even though I am only at level 14. Really satisfying to throw a fireball, have it shot back by Bison, then parry that to gain V-Gauge. Hard Survival is no joke, once you got past 20 I found myself actually having to do more than zone with fireballs and the occasional jump in to speed things along. Got to 25 I think before Karin was too much for me going in with 50% health.

SFV might be one of the only fighting games that I find myself having fun and playing competently with over half the cast, in SFV's case on Chun, Rashid, and Karin are the characters I just don't enjoy playing.

Kind of sad all my hype for Kombat Pack 2 is just gone now that SFV has taken over every inch of room for fighting games in my mind. Same goes for KI Season 3, even if KI was always a game I played casually every month or so.

@starvinggamer: Same here, Alex is my main for 3S but always felt like he had too many different move styles to utilize them all.

Guessing his V-Trigger will be Stun Gun Headbutt, opens up a massive combo opportunity but could be tricky to land so I see it making sense for that. No idea what his V-Skill could be. Maybe his jumping stomp move? That could give him an easy-ish way to get in, especially if him being more of a grappler means they take away his charging elbow move. If they recycle a super for his Critical Art it better be Hyper Bomb, that thing is so much fun to land in 3S.
