I honestly love the way Resurrection looks and animates. Plus, if you pick the hardest of 4 difficulty settings in a game belonging to an insanely hard series, you should expect it to be, well, hard.

I do agree that it looks too stiff even by GnG's standards, though.

Yours is always the individual list I look forward to the most and this is great as always. Also how dare you call anything related to Yakuza 7 unfun, Rami, I hate this.

I'm so happy someone aknowledged the screaming horse guy from Sekiro. The first time he he came galloping and shouting at me, stating his full name (Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa - I know it by heart, didn't have to look it up) and telling me I would only enter the castle over his dead body, I knew this was my favorite moment in videogames in 2019.

@mb2814: They actually added the side story markers in Yakuza 3! I'm still torn on whether or not I actually like that, because it takes a lot of the weird mystery out of the game. It was fun seeing a couple NPCs talking that you could interact with, or have your trip to the store interrupted by whatever bizarre nightmare found its way to Kiryu. Putting the marker on the map is undeniably more convenient, but it makes it feel much less organic and less like a lived-in city.

Yakuza 0 handled this very well. The markers don't show up by default, but you can acquire an equipable item that reveals them.

@the_nubster: I totally get what you're saying (though I didn't find it so aggravating). Even the final chapter suffers from that on its first half. But after the game displays the 'point of no return' message it gets crazy and serious and silly and hectic and emotional all at the same time, just like the best moments in this series. They even managed to make the credits amusing.

@the_nubster: I'm sold. I loved Onomichi so much in 6, can't wait to see Okinawa. By the way, you should give Judgment another chance. Yagami is no Kiryu, I'll give you that, but I finished it yesterday and I gotta say it's got the best final chapter in all RGG games.

They should rename this game to "Fallout: But Good"

I love hearing Alex talking about Yakuza/Judgment because he describes my feeling towards these games perfectly. They're my favorite thing in this generation of consoles (Yakuza 0 is EASILY my game of the generation). I'm currently in chapter 3 in Judgment and so far it feels like a delightful balance between new and familiar in comparison to the other dragon engine games. Certainly feels like it's gonna be my GOTY as well.

This is basically a 2.5D Sonic game.
