@ometeotl: This is conjecture but it sounds like he could have been talking about the Netflix story that Adam Conover talks about somewhere in https://www.giantbomb.com/shows/house-party-charity-stream-mario-kart/2970-20157 (Basically, both the Zelda Netflix show and some CollegeHumor Star Fox thing got scuttled because Nintendo got mad that someone at Netflix leaked the existence of the Zelda show.)
Given how much I loved Disco and Outer Wilds, and how much this list speaks to what I loved about them, I'm super excited to check out some of the other games here.
@alex: Though you can tell that Sleep No More inspired Tacoma from at least one interview where Steve Gaynor mentions this, there's also totally a reference to Sleep No More in this Quick Look. The song that E.V. St. James is playing, "Is That All There Is?", is sung in Sleep No More simultaneously by Hecate and the Boy Witch while they're on different floors of the hotel.
There's some solid ridiculousness coming out in these comments so far. Good luck, Rorie. I think the staff handled the subject of Palmer Luckey's actions very well, and it's always surprising that any fans of GB who are sufficiently enthusiastic enough about GB to comment here would expect anything other than what Jeff said in this podcast.
I watched some of this with the chat archive, and it's kind of weird how much the chatters insisted on games using VR in a very specific way. They seemed to want only games that couldn't be played outside of VR, or maybe just games that are from a first-person perspective? People were complaining that Darknet didn't have to be in VR without thinking about how much VR adds to Darknet. As someone who played Darknet on Gear VR, I think it's pretty great, and being in VR adds so much to the 90s movie cyberhacking aesthetic.
Also, that game changes a few pretty cool ways that Jeff hasn't gotten to yet, and it has secrets that no one has figured out.
