I will be there. It will be my third year in row and I am excited.

I am disappointed that the Giant Bomb staff chooses not go. I think that some of their criticism of city San Antonio are valid. Such as no direct flights or things not being relative walking distance from downtown. At the same time the west coast staff spend most of the year complaining about how expensive it is to live in San Francisco. They complain about gentrification in their neighborhood. They complain about overcrowding at all the other events they go to like E3 and PAX West. We rarely hear Dan brag about Kansas being the cultural hub of the world.

I know I sound salty because I grew up and live in San Antonio. Texas is not perfect but it's still home. I am grateful that Penny Arcade and the visitors who come to S.A.

I did not play a lot of new games in 2017. I ended up playing games that were either on sale or from Playstation Plus. Here is my Games of the Year list. I know that Mass Effect: Andromeda does not meet expectations and was broken in parts. I got my moneys worth. It's disappointing that the story will not expand in the near future.

I can't remember the exact dollar amount but the game I spent the most money was Fallout 3. I bought the collector's edition. It was in a lunch box that included a bobble head, small art book and behind the scenes dvd. I then bought the hardcover strategy guide and all the DLC: Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. There was no season pass at the time and I did not want to wait for GOTY edition. Lastly I spent $50 dollars for Ron Perlman to sign my copy of the game when he was at the Alamo City Comic Con.

Fallout 3 for Playstation 3 was technical mess at times but it became one of my favorite games of all time. I enjoyed ever minute I got from that game. My runner game I spent the most money on was Mass Effect 2. Over the years I stopped buying collector's edition of games.

I am going with Persona 5. Its good that Alex and Ben played but I feel that most of the other staff did not want to make the time investment. If they are going to talk about Persona 5. They will spend more time talking about Atlus' restrictive streaming policy as a knock against the game.

$108.3 Million opening weekend. It will break at least $100 million. The trailer got a good reaction when it was shown in previews the last few months. I am not the biggest Thor fan and I did not see the first two movies in theaters. Cate Blanchett as the main villain seems promising. Jeff Goldblum is in it so that makes the movie better.

The last boss in Bloodrayne. I could not beat him in his second form even with cheats on. I tried everything and nothing worked. This was before Youtube, so I couldn't figure out if there was a specific way to beat him.

Dan Ryckert's egg shell story. That tops the list of questionable things Dan has done in his life. I am still baffled on how he manage to graduate from the University of Kansas with a film degree.

I started going to Giant Bomb in 2009. It was a few months after EGM/1UP's demise. I was listening to the spin-off podcast Rebel FM. Through their recommendation I stated listening to the Bombcast. I got hooked ever since. I became a premium member in 2011 because I wanted them to keep doing what they were doing. Games press has changed a lot in the last ten years. I have this fear in back of my mind that one day CBS will decide to pull the plug. Only time will tell what happens next.

• Always look up. There somebody hiding on a ledge or balcony on the top section of the map.
• If your entire teams dies. Don't straight back to the objective by yourself or you will get picked off again. Wait for everybody to respawn to regroup.
• Follow map objectives. You get more exp doing map objectives and winning the match. It's super annoying when it's an capture the point or escort the payload and nobody is there.
• Pick a character that fits your play style. Pick characters that complement other player's skill sets. Reinhart's shield with Bastion's turret. Mercy's attack boost with D.Va or Attack heavy characters.
• Hold off on Competitive matches until you are comfortable or in a group with friends. Most likely you end up getting paired with players who don't know how to play or trolls.
• If you are a healer and a person on your team is spamming the "I need healing" when they are too far away from you or constantly getting killed. Heal everybody else but that person.
