That was a good animated short, honestly this past bombcast was one of the better ones in years. I miss the Bombcast Bombinations, those were coming out when I first found out about the site and began to frequent so I have a high regard for those. My favorite:
The thanks are all for you for creating some cool artwork! If you ever create something else feel free to drop a link to it on the latest Spotlight! That way I can't possibly miss it.
Love the videos this week. Keep doing what you've been doing @samcb. Plus the rest of our community has plenty of good things for me to check out at some point too. Thanks for mentioning my contributions this week. I'm going to assume the site must give bonus points for putting a lot of text into a page at once. Didn't expect to get over 400 points for what I posted. Glad I was able to "surprise" you @zombiepie
I believe that I have your latest review for the next Spotlight, but I'm not sure if I have all of them on account of the notification system breaking earlier this week.
Question #1: So "Attack," "Defense," and "Magic" have a "regular" number and a percentage. What is the difference between the two? What does the regular attack number on top relate to, and how is it different and similar to the percentage number below it? That question also applies to the Defense and Magic stats.
Question #2: A TON of you mentioned that Summons are a great resource not to squander in the game. My issue is that they take forever to level up. Which ones are worth leveling up? Are there any Materia that link to Summons? Which combinations are the best?
Question #3: Should I be worried about grinding yet? Should I be grinding? Right now I'm at a level that has been reached as a result of progressing the main story and a few side quests only. I have not deliberately engaged in leveling and grinding at all. Should I rectify this, and if so where should be grinding? Is there a latter level in the game where this can be accomplished efficiently?
Question #4: Related to the previous question is the amount of time I should be spending leveling up my Materia. I have yet to Master a single Materia yet, but are there any that I should go out of my way to master?
Question #5: The Temple of Ancients...WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT ALL ABOUT? I MEAN WHO THE FUCK DESIGNED THAT GODDAMNED LEVEL?!?!?
I ask all of this because many of the guides that I have been located are either intended for experts wishing to 100% the game, or engage in the meta-game of Final Fantasy VII. I have no interest in participating in either. I honestly just want to see what the game has to offer in its story and a few fun side adventures here and there.
I done my part too! I had sent Rorie a couple of PMs about bringing the spotlight to the front page, and after the second PM it went official mere days later, so. Just sayin' ;)
I have donated money so you will be forced to play Final Fantasy XIII. I will most likely donate more to make sure this happens. I am also fond of the idea of you playing all three Final Fantasy XIII's, but I'm not sure if that is in the cards.
You...you are a bad person.
And no, that is not what I had planned. Final Fantasy XIII mean just the first XIII game.
I think I would rather play Final Fantasy VII? That said I am almost certain that VII would result in a greater amount of frustration than XIII.
I think you're underestimating how long and boring the tutorial corridor of XIII is. 15 hours of boring ass tutorials would be far more frustrating than anything VII has to offer.
GREAT! THIS ALL SOUNDS GREAT! THANK YOU COMMUNIST PANDA!
God damn, good luck man. I've tried many times to get into FF and I've pretty much hated each one I've tried. I'm not big on JRPGS to begin with but I've still enjoyed the bigger names like Chrono Trigger and Persona 4. FF has never grabbed me though. I've played 4, 7, 10, 12 and 13. Didn't finish any of them.
