For a year that seem to have so many great games, I have surprisingly only played 6 of them.... well, 7, but the 7th was so bad, i don't want it on my list. I actual came here to look over other people's list in case i had forgotten something.... i did not.

  1. LoZ: BotW
  2. Steam world dig 2
  3. Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment
  4. ME: A
  5. Chroma Squad
  6. Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly world

Interested in this, but their DLC so far has left me iffy... well, mainly the elite boss thingy one (Alien Hunter, I believe it was called), the system they used for that was horrible, broke the system(had to use special gear on special random enemies so they didn't attack outside of the turn system, in order to just get some armor), and ruining the game (imo). If they fix that for these rulers, than am in, but if its just like those elite boss thingys, well, I have a rather long backlog of games, and I see no reason to go back to play something that I didn't enjoy.

The setting reminds me of Xenoblade Chronicles X... well a lot of it does actually. It is prettier and appears to be more focus on loot, but has the whole Humans trap in a single city on an alien hostile planet feel (not sure if that will end up being anything interesting or not, but that demo didn't help)

A prequel to a time travel story... seems risky / a cash grab. Then again, the first game came out of no where (well for me, am sure they had fans beforehand), so maybe they can pull this one off too, but I doubt it, since its a prequel to a time travel/friendship story

It lost me sometime in season 2/3. It felt like the story was just the same over and over again, and would continue to be so, new names and places, but the same stuff happening again and again.

No, but I don't buy any console during its launch period. I always wait 1-2 years. With that being said, yes, I do plan on picking one up, just not sure when.

I enjoyed the ending, but then again, it played out differently for me. And I don't mean it in the sense that we played the game differently, but that my guys from the tower mission were available for the other mission too... so none of my guys got locked out. So yeah, i think that why my opinion of the second to last mission is so different from yours. I really enjoyed sneaking around, and avoiding most of the enemies in that map, and also the intel part before it started.

As for the last mission, the horde mode ending was annoying at first, when it was just 1 or 2 waves, and really fun when i had to deal with 4-5 waves. I had saved up most of my AoE items, and well... it was just fun to use them.

The story in the end was ok. The build up, with your contact in the shadow group dying, well... that got to me, not sure why, i just liked that character a lot. Next, I didn't mind that the focus during the last mission being on the commander and not the squad members since all of my characters are custom made ones, after people I know. So they all already had personalities/story, since i based them off real people. Lastly, the whole aliens running/fighting a bigger enemy alien thing, reminded me of falling skies (TV show) and was rather generic. Hopefully the next XCom (which looks like it will be a Terror from the Deep (as Mirado already mention)) is more original story-wise.

Overall I had a lot of fun with the ending. The gameplay was great, but could have been better. The story did its job, but felt generic for the most part (the build up was better than the pay off).
