Sounds like a game to play on the PC. I looks really bad in this video.. but not in the videos from the PC (with beefy hardware.) Lame that it is on the epic store because there is no pre-load :P (I hope cloud saves..)
I'm really looking forward to playing this. I HOPE SLI works so i can get 4k and RT (… i'm not holding my breath.)
i generally wish GB did more in-depth stuff. "oh, i played of an hour or two." isn't very helpful. I watch these for the entrainment value of the crew, but not about the games themselves.
The quality is still limited to the power of 1 video card (run in a data center) as almost no new games support SLI/crossfire (which makes me sad as a user with 2 SLI systems.) The CPU side might be interesting as google servers could have a ton of them.
Even with the video compression funk. It might be better than a console, but it won't be better than a high end PC - but for a MUCH cheaper price. :)
One can OC their local video card and no video compression with a local PC. I hope google goes with the faster card options. (which is nvidia now.. but hopefully others will step up in the future to keep pricing down.)
@archimedes83: The scaling option ins Steam VR allows the game to render at a much higher resolution - it is super sampling. The native rez for all these screen are pretty low. The base rift/vive are 1080 x 1200 per eye - and they are right in your face. :) Even for someone not like me that plays everything in 4k, this is low res right in your grill :)
here are some pix of the interface i found on the internetz
clearly some games are more demanding that others. For example Moss isn't demanding at all... but Batman is much more demanding. for me moss ran with no problems at 400%, but i had to drop batman to 150% (but used you the pixel setting in games over 200%)
Do you guys have the wireless addon for the Vive (or vive pro)? (silly costly, but freeing in the same way that i'd guess this unit does - but without a loss in sexy. :) )
I think one of the things lost with a unit like this is resolution scaling. I have a vive pro and still don't super love the resolution. But scaled, it is much better. I was playing Moss last night at 400% scaled and the game looked MUCH better.
Do you notice the drop to the ~20 low refresh rate?
