Overview
Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was a Wii title announced at E3 2006 for the then-upcoming Wii console. Developed by Nintendo Software Technology Corporation, the game was an action title in which the player would control a character that fought by swinging a giant hammer.
The game was known as Machinex internally after it's first showing at E3. NST struggled with development, as they felt the game was just not fun enough.
To solve this problem the game eventually got a complete artistic overhaul and became known as Wii Crush. This new art style was similar to games like Wii Sports and Wii Music. This change, however, did not solve the problem.
The creative leads were eventually fired and employees left the company leaving the game to be cancelled in 2009 after 5.5 years in development.
