No, seriously guys, what is Proteus? I bought in to the beta a while ago and I've played 5 or 6 hours of it and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS.

I think it is just a peaceful place to relax, like Fez but without the gamey parts and procedurally generated. That said, I have no idea.

I am pretty sure that it is one of my favorite games I've ever played, I think. I'm not really sure. I don't fucking know.

Regardless, it's awesome. Buy Proteus.

I love it. But when I try and explain why, It sounds like Im crazy "...And i saw a blinky frog and chased it up a mountain and a rock made a noise..."

I was interested it in finding out what it was as well. I thought I was going crazy during last week's Bombcast when they were talking about a new game called Proteus and I kept thinking they meant "Parodius." That was freaking me out, me going "how the hell have none of them played 'Parodius' or know what it is."

What? What is this 'game'?!

It's not worth what they're asking. It's a neat little game that mixes the looks of Minecraft with the exploration of Dear Esther. But unlike Dear Esther or Minecraft there truly isn't any goal. You simply explore a randomly created world. Which would be fine if the worlds were bigger. In my ten minute journey I was able to wrap around the world. That sucks.

I want to believe.

Proteus is a reflection of what you want that you wish you didn't want. It is scary at first
