I'm looking to pick up this game, but I'm having a serious debate over which system will get my purchase. I feel like this is one of those games built around a gamepad for controls, but wonder if the PC version has 360 controller support that is any decent. I can get the PC version for $10 cheaper, and immediately, if I buy through Steam. However, I'm still wary of it being a shoddy port that will have the standard PC issues, since PC games these days are often an afterthought.

Can anyone who owns the Steam version give me their input?

@AndrewB: Works well for me on PC, haven't had a single problem yet.  My only complaint is that for some reason, even when the volume in game is set to max it still seems fairly low and I have to turn my speakers up much more than I normally do for anything else.  Though that is a very minor complaint.

Console. I feel like you'd need a gamepad. Plus I just prefer console gaming.

Yea. Personally, I feel that all third-person games are best played on console.
    But it's your call.

PC. Cheaper, more control options, better looking, open platform(i.e more easily modded).

I don't own this particular game though(not the type of game I'd drop $50 on).

If it's released on PC and console I always go for the PC option unless it is a local multiplayer party game.

That is given you have a PC that can max it out.

I'm questioning myself about the same thing... And all and all, in spite the bigger price, i think it pays off to buy them for the consoles.

Less trouble, and also DLC content, that most probably wont come out for pc.

I've ended up going for the 360 version. I don't expect there to be many, if any, mods for this game (a PC advantage unused). I definitely like the gamepad controls of third person games, and get guaranteed support for it on consoles. Possible exclusive DLC might also be a plus.

I might miss the graphical enhancements my PC might offer, but then, most games that are released for both console and PC have very superficial enhanced graphics settings anyway, yet manage to require significantly beefier hardware. My PC could handle it, I'm sure (passes the "but can it play Crysis?" test), but... I snagged it for $53, so not all that more expensive, either.

I realize you're done with the thread but crazily enough there was already a thread asking the same question for this very game.

As usual it comes down to your preferences.

For anyone still wondering, I bought the PC version and it runs great. I use a 360 controller which works perfectly and have had no technical issues with the game at all.

Below should be (if I embedded it correctly) an Xfire video recorded at half size, running the game at 1920*1200 at max settings.

There's a couple of screenshots here too.

...You can use a gamepad with your PC. Both XBOX 360 and PS3 gamepad controllers work just fine. They're not an exclusive feature of consoles. :P

I just think its the type of game that feels better with a controller so I got it on the 360.(yes, I know you can hook up a controller to the PC btw...but when I can just get it from gamefly on the 360 It saves me the hastle and the money)

I personally think these type of games handle better with a controller...so I would choose the console version over the PC version, though the PC version could potentially get some interesting mods.

Maybe after reading this thread the mods will update the game to say that there is in fact a PC version!

I would go PC any day of the week, mostly to push devs to make it a primary platform. Also because my PC rocks teh consoles and always will.

It depends. Do you want to throw your controller? or punch your keyboard. Because it probably will happen at some point during this game lol.

Ive played and beaten the game without a hitch on my PC. Hell my wireless reciever isnt working at the moment so I played it with my mouse and keyboard and I thought it was fine. It seems like medium on PC is the normal on consoles.

Console is probably a safer bet though.

That's a mighty rig sir, though the i7 processors are 4 cores (8 virtual).

As is general consensus, if your PC can run it then use that with a controller. Else go for console. Also if you <3 achievements and/or trophies =P
