I'm looking to pick up this game, but I'm having a serious debate over which system will get my purchase. I feel like this is one of those games built around a gamepad for controls, but wonder if the PC version has 360 controller support that is any decent. I can get the PC version for $10 cheaper, and immediately, if I buy through Steam. However, I'm still wary of it being a shoddy port that will have the standard PC issues, since PC games these days are often an afterthought.
Can anyone who owns the Steam version give me their input?

Prototype is an open-world action game from Radical Entertainment. You are Alex Mercer, a human transformed by a deadly virus into a virtually invincible killing machine.
PC or Console version: which?
PC. Cheaper, more control options, better looking, open platform(i.e more easily modded).
I don't own this particular game though(not the type of game I'd drop $50 on).
If it's released on PC and console I always go for the PC option unless it is a local multiplayer party game.
That is given you have a PC that can max it out.
I've ended up going for the 360 version. I don't expect there to be many, if any, mods for this game (a PC advantage unused). I definitely like the gamepad controls of third person games, and get guaranteed support for it on consoles. Possible exclusive DLC might also be a plus.
I might miss the graphical enhancements my PC might offer, but then, most games that are released for both console and PC have very superficial enhanced graphics settings anyway, yet manage to require significantly beefier hardware. My PC could handle it, I'm sure (passes the "but can it play Crysis?" test), but... I snagged it for $53, so not all that more expensive, either.
For anyone still wondering, I bought the PC version and it runs great. I use a 360 controller which works perfectly and have had no technical issues with the game at all.
Below should be (if I embedded it correctly) an Xfire video recorded at half size, running the game at 1920*1200 at max settings.
There's a couple of screenshots here too.

As is general consensus, if your PC can run it then use that with a controller. Else go for console. Also if you <3 achievements and/or trophies =P
