Determined by the government, people are assigned a number that will shape a person's lifestyle. This number is known as a Psycho-Pass. The system also has the ability to calculate a person's Crime Coefficient, this represents a individual's criminal capacity, which is measured by officers using the Sibyl System issued Dominator Portable Psychological Diagnosis and Suppression System, a handgun which once aimed at a criminal determines their Psycho-Pass and sets to 1 or 3 modes, Non-Lethal Paralyzer, Lethal Eliminator and Destroy Decomposer. There are two groups of officers, the Enforcers and the Inspectors. Enforcers are people with high Crime Coefficient, once criminals now officers of the law, they assist the Inspectors who use their criminal mind to solve cases. Inspectors are the people who command and watch over Enforcers, making sure they stay in line.
