    Overview

QAD: Quintessential Art of Destruction is a combat flight sim that was developed by Cranberry Source and published by Philips Interactive Media for the PC. Best known as a cancelled PlayStation game, it is quite rare in its CD-ROM form.

    Cancelled Versions

Both PlayStation and Sega Saturn ports of QAD: Quintessential Art of Destruction were in development. Due to the system's comparitive lack of power, the Saturn port was scrapped quickly.

Development of the PlayStation version also proved difficult; the graphics engine and art assets had to be completely redone. Eventually the polygonal enemies and objects in the game had to be replaced with sprites, to compensate for the PlayStation's limitations. The new graphics were shown to Philips Interactive, who did not like the end result and cancelled the port.
