I want to meet the man with enough disposable income to play this game. You know, so I can borrow 50 bucks.  If one was to purchase this game and all of its DLC from Steam, the total cost would be over $400. What do the DLC packs include? One. Train. $20. You can cry about 'on the disc dlc bullshit wahwahwah' all day long, but be thankful we don't pay these kinda prices.

you do realize that this is the actual train simulator the Train Trainers use right?
    Hence the price is justified.

This, if it's true. I've never heard this before.

iracing has similar prices for it's tracks and cars, I believe 10 or 15 dollars is the norm. The target audience is professional race drivers, if consumers want to join in too then they are welcome. It's not just a game like any others though.

Generally speaking, people who buy these type of simulators prefer to stick to one or two trains rather then using all them. Since each train is a detailed, simulated version of the real counterpart, it's worth it to those who really enjoy this kind of thing. It is expensive I'll admit but I've a few friends who are train/plane enthusiasts and they really enjoy using the same plane/train over and over again. For them, they prefer have fun by relaxing with simulators as opposed to the more "mainstream gamers" that derive enjoyment from challenges that games generally offer.
