Rain is a playable character during certain portions of the storyline, most prominently during the early chapters. She is initially shown as a colleague and lover of Hana Tsu Vachel, acting as the tech expert for all manner of heists. Later on the story it is revealed that she has an evil twin, one that hopes to give rise to a supernatural monster that Rain's own mother was trying to become.
Rain's exclusive melee weapon of choice is a knife, which she will pass onto Hana at the end of Fear Effect 2 for good luck, explaining where Hana gained her knife from in the original Fear Effect.
While few story elements were revealed, Rain was believed to have fallen for Royce Glas creating a love triangle between her, Royce and Hana.
