Ratchet & Clank, now in glorious HD!

I've been a fan of the R&C games for a couple of years now and when I got my PS3 for christmas a month ago I couldn't wait to play the Future series. So, how is R&C's first next-gen game? well, it's great, for the most part.

Tools of destruction plays the same as any game in the R&C series, you have a ton of weapons and you'll go around shooting bad guys, breaking boxes and jumping platforms. The main draw of the game is still upgrading you're weapons and armor, though the platforming and collection elements are still good. However, I found that there was just one constant annoyance that held the gameplay back, the unhealthy amount of minigames. Sure doing a pirate jig is fun, once, but ToD drives the minigame concept into the ground with  the amount of repitition they bring to the game.

The story in ToD is pretty good, though the ending is sure to make you say " What the eff"
Aside from some annoying things and a bad ending ToD is a fun, lighthearted game. Which in a crowd of brown, post apcolyptic FPS's is a real treat.

Overall: If you like R&C and don't mind a few moments of Deja vu, then you should give this game a play.

    Sound 9/10

The Ratchet series has been a staple of the PlayStation since the first entry came out on the PS2. And it was with that game that Insomniac cemented its importance as a part of Sony’s success, with it’s strong commitment to the platform; this is especially true in Japan, where the series is very popular, and continues to have strong sales with each new release. In any case, I’m sure this was a highly anticipated game for many PS3 owners; I know it was for me. One of the more shocking revelations...

Weakest of the Good Ratchet Games 0

It has been quite some time since I found myself absorbed in a Ratchet game. I’ve been burned-out on the series since Deadlocked. Even by the time I first played A Crack in Time, reportedly the best the series has to offer, I just didn’t feel like playing any more Ratchet games. Well, it must be time for me to dive back into this series here in the current generation’s fading years. I finally finished the first of the next-generation Ratchet games. And it gets this old Ratchet fan an approval, b...
