So the way Recettear works is if you fail to pay the bill by the end of the week then it's Game Over and it places you back in the beginning. I was in my third week and was just a few hundred dollars short of the 80K bill, so needless to say the loan shark took my house and everything in it. Luckily I had a save file from a week before so at least I didn't lose -that much- progress.  
 
I would like to point out that I'm not actually angry at the game, I'm just displaying natural frustration from coming close to an objective but not achieving it due to being a little bit off. The game's great so far and also much larger than I expected. Oh well, back to work.

I made that mistake when I first played the demo. Except I had enough money, so I decided to go out and farm some dungeons. Not realizing it costs money to hire an Adventurer to go exploring, I fell under the limit, and had my house taken away :(

i coudnt beat the game on my first try, had to go to about day 20ish and purposely lose and then i won with 500k to spare 
 
game difficulty needed some tweeking but is still a lot of fun

I liquidated as much as I could. Knew I shouldn't have purchased those "treasures", nobody ever buys them! And that little girl that always wants a 50% discount on everything and asks for stuff I don't have! "

Guys guys...just do the following to make your debt payments a lot easier.  You may have to skip something the first time around, however you can then easily make money in every other loop with no worries after the first one.
