So the way Recettear works is if you fail to pay the bill by the end of the week then it's Game Over and it places you back in the beginning. I was in my third week and was just a few hundred dollars short of the 80K bill, so needless to say the loan shark took my house and everything in it. Luckily I had a save file from a week before so at least I didn't lose -that much- progress.
I would like to point out that I'm not actually angry at the game, I'm just displaying natural frustration from coming close to an objective but not achieving it due to being a little bit off. The game's great so far and also much larger than I expected. Oh well, back to work.

I was just a few hundred dollars short FUUUUUUUUUU
Can't you just go to the market and get rid of some stuff quickly?
Or did you just run out of things to sell.
Yayifications!
Wait, not yay. Oh well, more Recettear for you! That can only be a good thing, so consider it as blessing in disguise.
<3 this game
I made that mistake when I first played the demo. Except I had enough money, so I decided to go out and farm some dungeons. Not realizing it costs money to hire an Adventurer to go exploring, I fell under the limit, and had my house taken away :(
" Can't you just go to the market and get rid of some stuff quickly? Or did you just run out of things to sell. "I liquidated as much as I could. Knew I shouldn't have purchased those "treasures", nobody ever buys them! And that little girl that always wants a 50% discount on everything and asks for stuff I don't have!
I really want to play this game but I find the art style to be abrasive. Is it worth fighting through?

" I really want to play this game but I find the art style to be abrasive. Is it worth fighting through? "It's a bit simplistic but also really addictive. You should have bought it two days ago though, it probably went back up to $20 again.

Guys guys...just do the following to make your debt payments a lot easier. You may have to skip something the first time around, however you can then easily make money in every other loop with no worries after the first one.
- Make sure your store atmosphere is not too gaudy and a little light
- Expand your store at least once
- NEVER go to dungeons
- Every time stuff decreases in price, buy at least 1 of everything so long as your wallet can do it.
- ALWAYS sell items that increase in price and easily go past 200% every time.
- Early days food and smaller items with a weapon or armor here and there, then later on mix with more of the pricy stuff
- The girl can accept around 109-110% so always try that. Also sell around 117% for old man, 118% for woman, 125% for man and guildmaster. If you have adventurers coming in your store, their description pretty much tells how much money they could really have. If they ask for an item, sell them an item appropriate to their available funds. If they ask for an item, you can sell for at least base price no problem.
- Every day, go out and buy as much as possible, then sell for the rest of each day
- You can bleed out anyone who orders something, so do not be afraid to sell expensive items for orders
You should be able to sell like crazy and easily reach all the debts around a week or so before the end of the game. Then just continue to make money like crazy. After the game is over, your money and all items in stock carry over to the second loop should you want to just focus on the characters and the dungeons. There is a lot of character content there, but getting rid of the debts can be really quick if you
