I own the original Red Dead Redemption on my Xbox One, but never got around to playing it. Would I be missing anything if I jumped right into RDR2, or should I take the time to play through the RDR first?

There are connections, but from what I've played so far, nope.

I understand that RDR2 is a prequel, but I was more worried about missing the experience of the original RDR, knowing that it will likely be difficult to go back to it after playing RDR2. With that said, and based on the feedback here so far, I think my limited time is probably best spent jumping right into RDR2. I am sometimes a little obsessive about playing games in order, but realistically it could be months or even years before I complete RDR, so I think I will just skip it entirely for now and move on to RDR2.

If i hadn't already played the first, i would play 2 then 1 because by all a counts 2 is as good if not better then 1.

It would help a lot, and its one of the best games every made.
