I'm very close to certain that the retail version of Undead Nightmare on PS3 does not require the original game to play, but I'm wondering if the downloadable version on PSN requires the game to play.  I'm dying to kill wild west zombies but don't want to spend 70 bucks for the ability to do it. Would appreciate a quick answer, ideally with official proof because I have been unable to find any answers.  Thanks!

Sorry, but you do need the full version. It's DLC. Not a full game.

Edit: Wait, retail version? That's what I get for not reading fully, but still PRETTY sure that you would need the full game.

Edit 2: Yeah, looks like I was wrong. MY BAD.

*sigh* that makes two dlc packs I would have paid for but didn't because I didn't have the game anymore.  (sorry Bioshock 2)

Retail version is stand alone, while the downloadable versions do require you have the original game.

Retail disc is stand-alone. The dlc is an add-on.

It's also worth noting that the retail disc contains all the DLC to date, not just Undead Nightmare.
