Not a chance. Sony wouldn't want to take any attention away from their big reveal by teaming up with a third party to announce a non-exclusive game. Likewise Rockstar aren't the type to use someone else's event to announce anything

Sony has nothing to gain by giving such time to an announcement of a non-exclusive title that will surely draw attention away from what they want to present.
Rockstar does not need the exposure of a presentation like this to announce anything.
This seems incredibly unlikely.

Sony are going to sell an upgraded PS4 using a remaster of a last gen game this sounds so stupid I want to believe its true.
I don't think this is as absurdly unlikely as some of you are suggesting. Allow me to play devil's advocate and let's look at some facts.
1) Why would Sony use a remake of a old PS3/360 game to announce their new hardware? Because if Rockstar really is working on this, it's not going to look anything like an old PS3/360 game. Their "port" of GTA5 is still one of the most technically and artistically impressive PS4/Xbox One games. It also is one of the most successful.
2) Does Rockstar need Sony for this announcement? No. But let's not forget that PS4 was the only current gen console that you could buy in a holiday bundle with GTA5. Sony and Rockstar already have a relationship, and if they would announce a new holiday bundle along with the new remaster, it makes sense.
3) A Red Dead Redemption port wouldn't be exclusive, so why would Sony use this game to announce their system? Because Microsoft won't have their updated console out for a while now, so it might as well be a console exclusive. People already make a big deal out of 900p vs 1080p, or when one console has a slightly more dependable frame rate. The console difference here will be night and day, and even more than an exclusive, that will show off the power of new hardware more than any new game.
Am I suggesting that it'll actually happen? I have no idea, but I don't think the idea itself sounds as crazy as most of you seem to be suggesting in this thread.
