i apologize if this has already been posted. if so, please lock away.
i'm pretty excited for this. tonight on Gametrailers TV (on spike.. forgot what time it's on at. i think midnight EST) they'll be revealing the new red faction game!
i'm pretty excited for this. the story in Red Faction:Guerrilla wasn't much, but i'm always happy to see a new Red Faction game.
SOURCE
are you looking forward to the new RF game?
edit: just saw it. looks pretty great. it looked kind of horror-y but it looks cool since RF is going underground again.
will we finally get the Reconstructor in single player?! please?! it appears so!!
Red Faction: Armageddon
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Jun 07, 2011
Get your ass back to Mars in the fourth installment of the environmental destruction-focused Red Faction series. In Armageddon, players go back underground for the first time since the original Red Faction.
Red Faction: Armageddon world premiere tonight!
I'd so much rather it be set during the uprising against Ultor like the first game, alas, I imagine it's going to be Red Faction: Guerilla 2 effectively. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just not what I want really.
EDIT: Do my eyes deceive me after reading your Destructoid link? "goes back to the old Red Faction because about 80% of it is underground"
Oh, now I'm interested.
Cool, thanks for letting us know. Hopefully they will improve upon the awesome destruction engine of Guerrilla.
" There's gonna be a new Red Faction game, but I don't know if that's its name. "this story has been reported by multiple sources using the same name. it appears to be subtitled Armageedon. i'm also not surprised considering how cheesy of a subtitle that is.
i just love it.
EDIT: Do my eyes deceive me after reading your Destructoid link? "goes back to the old Red Faction because about 80% of it is underground"haha so am i. Red Faction was pretty amazing.
Oh, now I'm interested. "
@natetodamax: they said they're further utilizing Geo Mod 2.0. (according to the wiki page, anyway) so we should see some amazing stuff.
" Damn it. I need to get my shit together and go back and beat Guerilla quick smart. "you haven't beaten it yet? son i am disappoint. i'm currently on my second playthrough it!
go play it, now! the story isn't special but it's a hell of a ride blasting through the game.
i got guerrilla for free about 3 weeks ago... and its still in its plastic wrap.. (also with bioshock 2 but thats cause i got 1+2 in a cheap bundle..) i'm sure i'll be getting to it along with the rest of my backlog.
I remember driving off a cliff in RF:G, and my vehicle crashing through the top of a building. The front of the vehicle was poking into the first floor, the majority of it on the second floor, and the ass end of it sticking out of the building's roof.
Red Faction: Guerrilla was an AWESOME game.
I wasn't crazy about the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo. The building fell apart waaaaaay to easily. C'mon, you can hammer a building down? Are they made of toothpicks or something?

Blue Faction. Icy Blue... http://community.redfaction.com/
because of you i've now found myself staying up to watch this.... and as earlier post said i haven't even played it.. even though i have it.
Starts at 12:22 PST according to my cable provider. Any idea if they post that shit online, 'cause it's 12:22 EST RIGHT NOW. Damn tape delay across time zones :(
Oh shit, GTTV is starting now (well, it's Commercial right now, but in a few minutes).
I hope they let you save with cheats ala Saint's Row 2. That utterly destroyed RF:G replayability for me. I beat the game twice, but after that I just lost interest. If I could blow shit up constantly and forever while continuing the plot, I'd probably still be playing.
Anywho, time to wait out the commercials.
Edit: Dude, aliens. Also looked like he had some kinda wrist-constructor thing he was using to make a bridge.
well that tease was pretty cool. it takes place underground in the mines, you blow up stuff, kill things, looks fancy.. yep its a RF
hey guys what was the game they showed that was a futureistic type shooter (i think they did crysis then it then crysis then RF)
but i missed its name....
" I'm still most curious about the wrist thing. It glowed blue and looked like it made a bridge thing while he was running over it. It'd be awesome if you could rebuild stuff forever, then destroy it again. "have you played Red Faction Guerrilla?
if not, In the multi player mode, there was a weapon called the Reconstructor. you could rebuild buildings, structures, and anything that existed on the map that you blew up. it was used for two awesome game modes, but it was a fun weapon to use when you blew stuff up with friends.
it wasn't in the single player, but it appears it will be this time.
@shadows_kill: Vanquish
A forum says this is going back to an FPS, which would be highly disappointing to me. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or is it rampant speculation? I believe the "80% back to the roots" comment was just focused on it being underground.
Jetpacks and jumping around ruins was a lot more fun in the third person, dammit.

I went to the site in the trailer (Gobeneath.com), and here's what it said about the wrist thing." I'm still most curious about the wrist thing. Nano Forge:
" A family heirloom with a storied history, the Nano Forge has been passed down from one Mason to the next with one purpose: To keep the planet safe.
Now in possession of Darius, the Forge's nanotechnology has evolved to give its user a range of abilities that could only be described as "super-human."
Repair is the first abiity, and it "fires a swarm of of nanites that attach to man-made material and reconstruct the damaged portions. Within seconds, it's good as new." So it seems like you'll get your wish. If I could blow up that giant bridge in the first game over and over, I'd be a happy camper.
