After the death of his brother at the hands of a corrupt Earth government, Alec Mason has no choice but to join the Red Faction terrorist cell and fight to free Mars from Earth oppression.
Yep. I'll never forget bringing down my first smokestack with the hammer. From that moment I fell in love with the game and over the next few days I couldn't stop playing it. The multiplayer is pretty good, too.
I rented that a while ago and was a lot of fun running around on Mars blowin shit up. My favorite part is the rail shooting segments where that redneck dude drives you around and you try to do as much damage as you can.
And the multiplayer isn't that bad either, i was actually tempted to buy it.

The redneck dude is the best. Especially when he starts talking "martian".
I picked it up for the PS3 for about $15 not too long ago. Played through the entire first area and haven't gone further yet. Enjoyed what I've played but Final Fantasy and Yakuza 3 take so much damn time...
Like every other great almost-legendary sandbox game, they fucked up by excluding co-op. I still play my PC version every week or two and fiddle with mods.
