The 3rd most fun i've had destroying a building with an ostrich 0

I never intended on buying this game. In fact, I actively made fun of it and other games that I believed "thought that destructible environments somehow made a mediocre game worth buying". I'm not going to bore you with the amazing tale of how I ended up with it, but eventually I (Hesitantly) popped in the game and became Alec Mason, a miner on mars with a terrorist brother. Despite the fact that I ended up not caring about the plot or characters because of both bad storytelling and enough clic...

A refreshing but short lived take on the Red Faction franchise 0

I've been a fan of Red Faction ever since I blasted my first tunnel into a wall in the first game. Whenever I think of innovation in destructible environments, I think of Red Faction. Guerrilla really raises the bar again making the franchise the leader of massive destruction. With all this destruction there comes a cost, however. The game's story and characters are forgettable and Mars is not an attractive enviornment although they did keep it a tad fresh with the slight differences in the zone...

Blowing Stuff Up Never Loses It's Charm 0

Having disliked the first two Red Faction games, I came into this game skeptical. The promise of being able to destroy anything eluded the development team in those games, and the shooting wasn't enough to make the game stand out. In this game, you know the developers are onto something the very first time you take a swing at a building with your hammer. In short, the combination of swinging a hammer, barreling through a building with vehicles, and detonating a symphony of explosive charges is a...

A real love, hate relationship 0

Red Faction is a very competent third person shooter from volition inc. the guys who brought us saints row. The obvious thing to mention first is the destructibility of the buildings and more importantly, the physics. This game should be played if for no other reason then to run around and blow up anything in your way. This game  pushes video games forward when it comes to how buildings should fall down. plenty of games out there have and use physics, but none to the extent the Red Faction does....

    Tonious35-- Red Raction Review 0

All I can say is that you can make more cool explosions and flying debris in this game than Michael Bay on CRACK or any hyper-intensive drug/substance.To be safe I rented the Game and after a couple of non-stop playing days, this game is a very solid and fun GTA-esque clone that falls around pretty good quality entries like Saints Row 1&2 and Crackdown.  It is just plain fun and shows off the Geo-Mod 2.0 Tech+HAVOK.  This Geomod 2.0 + HAVOK is not based on the ground and terrain damage like ...

lets play with explosion ! 0

Destruction is so deadly but can also be satisfying at times when your frustrated in life, Red faction is the type of game that made me wish the first battlefield bad company was with everything being destroying even the walls. It also kind of reminded me of mercenaries at times drive around hostile area, reload up on new gears and weapons and the group that your friends with is like your safe house area.  Red Faction follows the same path of a open world game with situation that you can approac...

    Infiltrate and Destroy 0

Red Faction: Guerrilla is a clear example that a game can be fun when you're destroying anything that gets in your way and having a good story doesn't hurt. Plan and simple the first thing about RFG is the destruction you can cause from just not feeling like walking to the front door, knocking down a wall instead to destroying the steps, ladder, bridge to delay an enemies attack or going nuts setting up some mines, charges, then hitting the building with a Thermoberic Rocket. The story is about t...

Red Faction: Guerrilla VIDEO REVIEW 0

Destructibility is one of the key features many games, especially shooters are trying to achieve. Battlefield: Bad Company introduced a somewhat scripted version where as Red Faction Guerrilla is truly destructibility to the max. Although it's not perfect it's a good step into the future of destruction. The story puts you in the shoes of Alec Mason who travels to Mars to work with his brother but instead he finds that the EDF (Earth Defence Force) is running riot killing civilians and treating Ma...

    Red Faction: Guerilla 0

I love blowing shit up. I have a pro blowing shit up agenda. If stuff starts exploding, count me in. Red Faction: Guerrilla is great because it encourages destruction and provides satisfying options for demolition. This game wants you to wreak havoc. You can use various explosives, crash through buildings in vehicles, and swing your sledgehammer. All structures can collapse, and when you cause them to, it feels great. Chip away slowly at the frame of a building or blast that sucker i...

OK Single player, Amazing Multiplayer 0

At first when I heard this game was going to be a third person shooter, I completely shot it down and labeled it as fail.  They released two demo's about a month before the actual release date, a campaign and multiplayer demo.  I tried the campaign demo (Released two weeks ahead of the multiplayer), and I was impressed by the destruction, but not completely impressed by the story and overall character of Alex Mason.  Two weeks later, I saw they released a multiplayer demo so I decided to try it ...

Is that your building on the ground over there? 0

Red Faction is a good game.  I liked it a lot better than the other 2 Red Factions, and I liked it better in third person. Positives things about this game are the fact that anything can be broken, most of the important missions are really fun, and the multiplayer is pretty solid.  Another good thing about the game is that it is long.  But most of the missions are way too repetitive.  It has a good story, but if you want to be successful in the important missions, you will have to do the very re...
