I've been playing Resident Evil for almost a week now, I'm about half way through the campaign and I'm still unsure what to make of it. I'm in Chapter 4-2, and here the game seems to have turned from something fun, in to a chore.
Also, the AI of Sheva really shows up here. I was turning the mirrors to reflect the sun beams, so that I could progress in to the next room. I was able to finish the final sun beam puzzle and went in to the rooms to collect my prizes! I felt good, until I knifed a vase. Inside the vase, was a snake, and that one snake sent me in to a dying state. I expected Sheva to help me as she was only a few metres away. Unfortunately she seemed to have lost the ability to move, and watched from a small ledge as I slowly became a corpse on the cold tomb floor. *Sigh*
I'll write a review sometime soon, once I've figured out what I truely make of the game.

Resident Evil 5 follows series alum Chris Redfield as he journeys into West Africa with his new partner, Sheva Alomar, fighting Las Plagas-infested enemies called the Majini.
I'm not too sure what I make of the game.
" Just wait till you get to the AK equipped majina Marine corp...thats where the fun really starts to fizzle out "I can't wait... *Sighs again*
" You don't know if you've been having fun after a week..? That will surely be a pretty interesting review to read... "I've had mixed feelings throughout my playthrough, whenever I'm having fun there's usually something around the corner that kicks me in the balls. It's like an alcoholic mother, that gives me sweets before she brutally beats me.
Welcome to 6 months ago. However, as long as you judge it as a shooter and not as "survival horror" (which is not a genre), I find RE5 to be a pretty good game. It's no RE4 though.
i got a million rotten eggs!
people have really started to hate on resident evil 5 now, I totally loved the game... like top 5 of the year so far. thought it had some really awesome setpieces and looked absolutely stunning. I nnever had to contend with the A.I though because I have only ever played it in co-op... maybe thats why i dont have as many issues as others have.
" I disliked it immensely. The only real highlights involve Wesker. "I'd agree that the only real highlights I've seen, involve Wesker.
I tried to play through on the hardest level (where one hit = death) to get some achievements, and with her AI it was just imposable. I still think it's a good game, but part 4 was sooooo much better. The atmosphere of fighting hooded cultists in a castle was infintantly better than fighting people in a swamp wearing loin cloths.

" @Cheapoz: i got a million rotten eggs!Hey, hit me up on live then some time!! GT: Rimfya
Also, I loved RE5. But I can TOTALLY understand why people hate it.
Even when I would have friends watch me play the game they couldn't understand half the design decisions (typically gameplay oriented), that yeah, are really odd. But I love the universe, love the level of polish on the presentation, and overall I can get past the controls for how cool the game is overall.
It's completely fine if you want to hate RE5. But I love it.
