Chris and Sheva sittin' in a tree... 0

Just finishing up Resident Evil 5, I have two things on my mind, one; I loved the game and story, I thought it holds as well as any Resident Evil game and second; the graphics are just simply amazing! I haven't played a game to date, including Killzone 2 that pays so much attention to detail and atmosphere. The low clouds that wisp on the rooftops of the Kijuju village region and the slick oil spills of the marshlands show how much the developers love Resident Evil and how serious they take the ...

    It's a Good Game. It Isn't a Resident Evil Game. 0

This Review Contains SpoilersWhen the Resident Evil franchise begun on the Playstation, it basically redefined what the survival horror genre meant. Hell, it created the survival horror genre. It was extremely innovative and everyone loved it. Then, that formula grew old, so Capcom reexamined the series and practically changed the what genre Resident Evil was known for. The series, then, totally redefined the third-person-shoulder-shooter, just as it had redefined the horror genre many many year...

    A Solid Adventure/Action Game 0

I bought this game only because my friend was buying it as he wanted to play co-op. Actually, I only bought it because my Gamestop was having a promotion for this game where you trade in 2 used games for RE5 at 20 bucks. So, I have played with quite a few people and I am proud to say that I enjoy this game. It is worth your money. I simply can't wait for the multiplayer. I have already bought Killzone 2 and this and I hope that those games will keep me occupied. The only con I can find for this ...

Bullet Point Review: Resident Evil 5 (PS3) 0

What I liked: Facial - Sheva's facial animations during the cutscenes look so lifelike. If you didn't take notice, go back and watch them...their pretty amazing. Levels - True, I felt alot of the levels in RE5 felt kind of like those in RE4, but there were some really impressive ones too. My personal favs being the city levels at the very beggining of the game. I wish those went on a little bit longer. Graphics - As expected RE5 looks amazing. Surprised? No. And you shouldn't be. Daylight - Whe...

An infection of great action. 0

Contrary to previous games in the series, Resident Evil 5 is no longer about the scares or the tension. Instead, Capcom’s latest entry capitalizes on action more than fear. While the more blatant shift in focus may be upsetting to long-time fans, comparing Resident Evil 5 to its predecessors is doing it a disservice; it’s an excellent action title all on its own and it’s also a phenomenal way to start off the spring season of gaming.Resident Evil 5 stars Chris Redfield (protagonist of the origin...

Night of the Living Dead-but-not-quite 0

Resident Evil is an example of a franchise that could’ve only succeeded as a video game. What other film or television series has gotten away with combining the depth of storytelling equal to a Power Rangers episode with the gratuitous violence of a horror film? Such a concept would nary succeed in movie theatres where film ratings are enforced, but the ESRB ratings didn’t quite carry the same weight in a video game store back in the day. Not that they carry much more weight nowadays but still. ...

    Resident Evil 5 Review 0

Resident Evil (RE), one of the sagas that reinvented horror games and set the bases for a new genre in videogames: survival horror. I played every Resident since 1 in the first Playstation, I really love these games. I will start speaking of other RE's. Because there's a lot of reviews out there, maybe I shouldn't be writing this one, but I think I have some things to say about it, some of them not covered in other reviews. As many of you know, RE4 was the first RE in a new generation, in a time...

This is what  think, a really really great action game very intense. Which is a key factor to a game, ex.( like what the fuck  whats going on man help ahahhaha shit noooo.. Like you don't know what going on and you are shooting everywhere that's what i love in a game. The only bad thing about it, it was lacking character style, not really a story in my mind, because thats what i look in game aswell. The story was ok, my favourite character would have to be Leon. But as I said action is great gore...

Finally, it turned out more than I expected !! 2 players ??! screwed up zombie people riding bikes evil knievel style, dogs splitting in half !! there are moments where you'll go WHAT THE EFF !!! An overall excellent experience, just play with a friend 0

Review:   Resident Evil 5 (PS3)  By Shift_andrew   Introduction: The Resident Evil series has come a long way since the Spencer Mansion.   Gone are the fixed camera angles and tank turning controls.   Gone are the poor aiming mechanics and pre-rendered backgrounds.   Resident Evil 4 was a huge step for the series in that it not only modernized the basic ideas of the franchise, but it also established a golden standard for 3 person shooters.   So, how does the latest iteration stand up?   Read...

Great if You Bring a Friend 0

Resident Evil 5 is a radical departure from any previous games you may have played in the franchise's history. Capcom incorporated a few new game play mechanics this time around; chief among them is a new co-operative mode which is integral throughout the entire game. The A.I. partner is fairly competent if you must play with it, however, nothing can truly replace another human player. And it is this sole dependence that RE5 puts all of its eggs in one basket. What I recommend to anyone interest...

Resident Evil 5 has its flaws, but is a great game overall. 0

Resident Evil, a series that defined survival-horror, has been around for thirteen years. Capcom, the creators of Resident Evil, released Resident Evil 5, the seventh game in the main series (0 and Code: Veronica make Resident Evil 5 the seventh game in the series instead of the fifth), in March, 2009. Four years prior, Resident Evil 4 was released, and the game was highly received with its new gameplay and new style. Does Resident Evil 5 live up to the success that its predecessor was? Let's f...

Still enjoyable despite not being as great as RE4. 0

I wanted to say I really enjoyed this game, even though it wasn't as amazing as Resident Evil 4. But beside that fact it was still a great game, one of the things I still loved about this game was that during the cut scenes you always had to pay attention or you would die. It is a great way to keep the gamer into the game and it still caught me off guard a couple of times. The gameplay from RE4 was brought back for this game and I still love it. I know they have went away from some of the more ...

A Prettier Shadow of its Former Self 0

Four years ago Leon Kennedy burst onto our screens in what would come to define the survival horror genre. Resident Evil 4 blended classic Resi frights and puzzles with modern day action orientated controls. The result was possibly the best entry in Capcom’s illustrious series. Now, after years of anticipation fraught with speculation, the sequel to the critically acclaimed game has arrived. Resident Evil 5 once again puts players in the shoes of Chris Redfield, except this time they’ll find the...

Night of the Living Dead + Die Hard + Godzilla 0

Past RE games created much of their tense atmosphere by keeping you, the player, completely alone throughout the game.   Resident Evil 5 separates itself from its predecessors by giving you a partner.   You play the game as Chris Redfield, a familiar series personality, and your new partner is an African woman named Sheva Alomar.   Chris and Sheva meet in the fictional African country of Kijuju to locate and destroy a new biological weapon that the Umbrella Corporation, a corrupt pharmaceutical...

    RE 4 + AI Partner + Better Pacing = RE 5 0

The best way I know how to sum up Resident Evil 5 is this: If you want a better looking version of Resident Evil 4 with a slightly shorter, better paced experience, this is the game for you. Since I loved RE 4, playing through RE 5 was a blast and was hard to put down. Everything that made Resident Evil 4 great such as the improved over-the-shoulder aiming system, the upgradeable weapons, the action rather than puzzle-focused gameplay, and the hordes of zombies (as opposed to the one or two at a...

    Resident Evil 5 0

It's not really a surprise that Resident Evil 5 is not as good as Resident Evil 4. It's not an insult to say that either, because the latter is one of the best games to come out in the last decade. 5 takes the core gameplay and design philosophy from 4, and expands on it in a new setting in some ways that are interesting, and in other ways that will leave you scratching your head. It's probably a more ambitious game, but on occasion its reach exceeds its grasp. When it's just following up on wha...

A Solid Action Game and a fitting Finale to the 10 year story arc 0

My Expectations for Resident Evil 5 were pretty average when i first heard of it, but at that point i had not played a Resident Evil game before, after getting into the series and seeing the trailers before the games release , i felt i was now ready....to shoot some (not)zombies. So the game has you playing as recurring character of the series "Chris Redfield" on a mission to investigate bio terrorism in Africa, once he lands in Africa and meets the new companion character of the game "Sheva Alam...

Comparison to Resident Evil 4 0

NOTICE: This review is comprised only of a direct comparison of handpicked elements between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.  Let me briefly state that in general I find Resident Evil 4 to be an overall superior game when compared the latest installment. One exception should be noted, which is obviously the cooperative elements of RE5. All round the coop features of RE5 are an important addition, and if it were not for this feature my rating would drop to three or less stars.  That being sai...

Resident Evil 5 perfects the "Gun Survivor" series. 0

Resident Evil 5 had a lot to live up to, and a also a little to live down.    More like its immediate predecessor, Resident Evil 4 (RE4), than like the first three games in the series, Resident Evil 5 (RE5) is more of a third-person shooter than an adventure game. That being said, RE4 was an amazingly popular and successful re-imagining of the original series, and many fans of that game had high expectations for the next installment.  So, the question is, "Did RE5 live up to the expectations of ...
