The Gamecube remake, released almost seven years ago, still looks fantastic. Think of REmake 2 on the Xbox 360 or PS3 using pre-rendered graphics, in HD to boot. It would be amazing, and I'm saddened that Capcom doesn't want anything to do with traiditional Resident Evil anymore.

The first in a long line of action-oriented survival-horror games, Resident Evil pits a small group of special forces agents against hordes of zombies and other mutated creatures in a mysterious mansion.
Imagine how good a Resident Evil Remake would look today
I can't imagine it would look all that much better than Gamecube's. I mean, at least not enough of an improvement to justify another remake. Unless they want to remake RE2 or something, then I'd be down.

For good reason, while hey I love the original RE style and I really loved the RE remake, and RE 0 to an extent, I'm glad they they stoped bothering with them, theres HOW many versions of RE 1 in general, I can only remember 4.
Would it look good? yes. but wouldn't be easyer to just buy the remake and enjoy it for what it is?
I don't think I could go back the the camera angles and controls after RE4. I mean forward on the d-pad moves your character forward but disregards whatever direction you are facing so it's the opposite of intuitive. Pressing left means that I want to move to the left side of the screen. I want to investigate these noises that I shot at but could not see. Maybe it was a zombie. Who knows?... Yeah, that stuff annoyed me.
Well, you can play REmake all over again when the wii port comes to the US in a few months. Heck, you can pick up the wii port of RE0 while your at it.
Capcom was going to do the same treatment for RE2 and 3, but they decided instead to focus on a build of RE4 that was scrapped anyways. (The one that was basically a silent hill ripoff)
Also, don't forget the Rumors of a Remake of RE2 for the wii, which were actually just for that stupid light gun game.
Capcom is annoying me with how much they are milking their franchises, almost to an EA or Square-Enix level.
Id rather have RE 2 remade then any thing else...Though crapcom would probably try remaking it like re4 or 5.
"Why would you want pre-rendered graphics...?"Why would you NOT want pre-rendered graphics? That was the TCs entire point. Look at what the REmake did with that technique seven years ago. REmake is GORGEOUS. If you have it, pop it back in, then leave the mansion through the Painting on the stairwell and take a walk through that sinister garden thing. I wish I had a video of this now. There is an atmosphere and a mood presented there with these camera angles, the lightning and the animation of the background that is hardly achievable with real-time graphics, and absolutely impossible when the player is given control over the camera.
Have you seen what pre-rendered CGI looks like these days? Imagine that, with the finesse and skill in ainmation, interaction and lightning that brought REmakes "static" backgrounds to life.
Christ. There are few crimes in the video game industry as severe as the abandonment of presenting a story in predetermined, carefully prerendered and brought-to-life environments. (and hand-drawn 2D animation, but those fortunatly see a revival these days, and they are gorgeous too).
REmake showed impressively what the gamers are missing out on. A new game that used pre-rendered and pre-animated scenery with HD graphics and DTS sound would be so incredibly stunning to look at!
Sigh.
"I can't imagine it would look all that much better than Gamecube's. I mean, at least not enough of an improvement to justify another remake. Unless they want to remake RE2 or something, then I'd be down."The prerendered backgrounds would be HD. The characters would be photo-realistic. It'd be a big jump, but prerendered backgrounds would still suck.
Doodlydoodlydoodldoo?
I'm too much of a softy to play the old RE games. I'll stick with the modern non-scary ones.
Judging from Resident Evil 4 & 5 I'm quite happy for them to ditch making new Resident Evil games.
They need to tune the control scheme and gunplay (steal Dead Space's) as well as bring back classic Resident Evil zombies and mutants. Not the shitty enemies found in 5.
Edit: OP just run the game through an emulator on PC. It looks great. (force 1080P rendering if your computer can handle it)
Although that guy has either set it up wrong or his computer sucks. I had it running last year and it ran really smoothly.
