Resistance 2 is one of those games that manages to expand on its predecessor in every way. The single player is epic in scope and in story, which is practically worth the price of admission by itself. Then you throw in the extremely engaging co-op and competitive play, which expands on replayability in just about every way possible. Toss in a generous number of unlockables, trophies and community support, and you've got a phenomenal experience. This is an exclusive that PS3 owners should be proud to have in their collection.
Only 10 hours??? resistance 1 took me about 20 to complete =(
Excellent. It certainly sounds impressive, that multiplayer sounds like it's going to be awesome even with that high number of players. I think the developers have been pretty clever with making that work.

I have to agree with you man. I'll probably end up getting this game in March-ish when I'm completely out of other things to play."
"oh shit ps3 has a gears of war ^_^"gears of war??mmm not this year maybe next year we ll have a an announce from epic and gears will go multiplat :P
"MB said:That's kinda worse.....I mean, you should generally have an interest in a game before buying it, and at that point, even after hearing reviews, if you are interested you would generally still get it. If you are unsure of one, just give it a rent, but that in general is the completely wrong way of doing things. It doesn't matter if a game comes out that is awarded"the best game ever created in the history of time", it still doesn't mean everyone will be into it. Listening to reviewers when you yourself think something doesn't look interesting just seems like a total waste of money."Kush said:lol thats just....wierd."I don't care what any reviewer says (especially IGN)...the game still doesn't look that interesting to me, just like the first game."

Hmm, is this game still about Russians? I always thought that was retarded. Of course, I never played the first game, but I didn't want to because of that.

Makes sense, but you only said that now.
I saw a commercial for the first one, and it's like, "The Russians are at war with the United States, but their secret weapon is something the likes of which we have never seen . . . OMFG LOCUST O I MEAN ALIENZ!"
I swear I saw this commercial somewhere, and I was confused because I thought it was a Gears spinoff. So, is it still about Russians? Was it ever?

Really didn't think the topic had enough punctuation, so I've added some more for your convenience.

Resistance was about the Chimera taking over Europe and the Americans going to England to fight (a "last stand" sort of deal).
"Sorry to be a dick but someone posted this like 8 hours before u did :PFail.

Cartman was pwned. Also, I kinda wanna play this game now. It sounds interesting, much more interesting than Halo, maybe because it takes place on earth. DAMN, I wanna PS3.
"LinkAbsolutely shocked by the score. From the beta it feels like one of those games that everyone will love but will not score well... I can't put my finger on why though.

The Russians developed the Chimera. I think. Something like that. This is nothing like Gears Of War at all. The only thing they share are names for enemies etc. which many movies, novels and games share.
"I don't own a PS3 but i'm really pleased that the people who do are finally getting games that take advantage of the hardware like LBP and this"I would argue that LBP and Resistance actually aren't the games that show off the hardware. But they both definitely show off PSN - remember 60 player online and video gaming web 2.0 is all free once you buy the disc. Aside from DLC anyway.

Then . . . you're blind? Same color skin, same color armor, always mouth agape? They're not terribly similar, but to someone with minimal knowledge of both titlesm there's something there.

It's just typical sci-fi horror cliche really... I mean look at the things in Dead Space and Halo and stuff. Don't get me wrong, I understand your point, BUT I think you're issue is more with the whole sci-fi genre - not just these games.
And I agree with you by the way... too many characters in games like this are too similar. I mean... Cloverfield was spoiled by the biggest cliche character ever.
"Arkthemaniac said:The Chimera totally have a better name. I'm not intimidated by "Locust", even after having played through the first Gears."Then . . . you're blind? Thats really nice to see. Personally I think that the original resistance, at least the single player killed gears of war IMO. I have both and Gears was just ridiculous as far as single player story, progression, voice acting...ect. Resistance had a very solid multiplayer which I still play and the Story was pretty unique as well, and I guess the set pieces were much more memorable, like the church, the hanger in bristol was amazing, and last hope in London was just phenomenal! Gears was good, but I dunno what all the fuss was over? Multiplayer? That was fun but there was nothing really to hook me into it the way it did others I guess?
"get2sammyb said:I can't say i'm bricking myself off Chimera. I just associate them with some awful metal band."Arkthemaniac said:The Chimera totally have a better name.
