    A Perfect Start

Resistance Fall of Man was the most anticipated game to first launch on the PlayStation 3 and it delivered. With a great lengthy, interesting campaign, offline co-op and up to 40 player online multiplayer it is truly the perfect start for the PS3.

The game starts in 1951, with the protagonist, Sgt. Nathan Hale, as part of the United States Army Rangers' 5,000-man task force to help liberate Britain and to retrieve a secret weapon that the British claim can be used against the Chimera. However, the force is quickly wiped out by a Chimeran spire attack, which infects all of the soldiers with the Chimeran virus, soon after landing in York. Hale, the only survivor, appears to be infected with the virus despite not having gone into a coma; he possesses increased metabolism and limited regeneration, and his irises have become gold/yellow, somewhat like the Chimera. He now harnesses the power to use sym-bacs, the game's version of health packs, to instantly regenerate up to a quarter of his health at a time. Hale continues with the war effort, assisted by Lieutenant Stephen Cartwright, a British Royal Marines Commando. The two of them eventually discover that the Chimera have established a series of metallic Towers throughout Britain, all inter-connected by a series of underground power conduits. Oddly, evidence indicates that the Towers were excavated, not constructed, adding more mystery as to the origin of the Chimera. Hale enters the underground Chimeran tunnels and discovers that the Chimera's main Tower in Britain is in London. Through his connection to the Chimera, Hale comes to the conclusion that destroying the central Tower will somehow result in the total defeat of the Chimera in Britain.

The multiplayer consists of up to 40 players online and 4 player offline. The online mode has a terrific lobby, it enables players to create a party to easily access games with there friends, an in game messaging system, buddy lists, the abilty to make clans and much more! Online is spilt into two sections; ranked matches and custom matches.
Ranked matches quickly put players into either team tactle matches, deathmatches, and team deathmatches. The weapons and the map are selected at random.
Custom matches enable players the abilty of creating there own match. You are allowed to change a whole lot of settings such as, weapons, maps, game type, amount of players and much more.  This is great for setting up games with your friends or creating games that you like and getting other people to join them.

To conclude I will say that Resistance is a must have PS3 game that has a lot of replay value, excitement and interest in both its mulitplayer and campign modes.

R:FoM "used to be" a good game. 0

This game is one of my favorite FPS games.  Nathan Hale is my favorite character in this game because he plays a major part of the story.  The chimera race comes to invade the region of Europe, spreading around the world from there.  Nathan Hale and his squad is trying to stop the chimeras from taking over the world but throughout the game, Hale is half-chimera and half-human.  However, the chimera part gets worse as the story goes.. it's spreading like a virus and gets the worse out of Hale.  H...

An old but acceptable and fun title which is well worth a look. 0

It's currently 2010, and one might be forgiven for thinking that it’s a peculiar time to still be playing Resistance: Fall of Man. Resistance was a launch title for the PlayStation 3 in 2006 and it shows, which is a nice way of putting it. But chief of my concerns is whether or not a game is fun and enjoyable, and whether or not a game facilitates fun through its aesthetic and its gameplay. Despite Resistance’s age, it still manages to communicate that important three letter word.  Even with eve...
