Overview
1-bit rendering of 3D environments creates a distinctive lookReturn of the Obra Dinn is a first-person adventure game by Lucas Pope, an indie developer best known for creating Papers, Please.
The game, built in the Unity 3D engine, is polygonal but uses 1-bit graphics rendering to recreate the grayscale look of early Macintosh games, like Shadowgate.
Story

The Obra Dinn is an East India Company vessel that never arrived at its rendezvous point, the Cape of Good Hope, and was subsequently declared lost at sea. But now, on October 14th, 1808, it has appeared off the coast of Falmouth, England. The ship is heavily damaged and there is no visible crew onboard. The player takes the role of an insurance adjuster of the East India Company that must board the ghost ship and uncover what has happened during the voyage.
