    Overview

    Rio originally appeared as a casino dealer in Tecmo's Super Blackjack as part of a collaboration between Tecmo and the company Net to create female characters. Rio was a well-received character and her popularity led to her appearing in a number of other pachislot games (pachinko-style slot machine games), a figurine being released of her and even plans being made for an anime based around her. Her first appearance outside of Japan was Rio Blackjack for the iPhone OS, followed by Rio starring as a character in the 2010 PSP game Dead or Alive: Paradise.
