Rival Books of Aster is a collectible card game developed independently in Toronto, Canada. It is the first game created by Stitch Media. It is also created in partnership with the Games Institute at the University of Waterloo, in Canada.
In Rival Books of Aster, four ancient houses battle for control of the planes of Aster. These four families are the demonic and dark Grimoirum Verum, the natural and earth-loving Theurgia Goetia, the mechanical 15th century Pauline Art and the hieroglyphic and war-focused Heptameron.
Players align themselves with one house and build custom decks to go head-to-head against each other in battles. There are currently 140 different spell cards, each painted in one of the four distinct house styles. Each card also doubles as a page in ancient manuscript where the story is deciphered as each card is collected and played.
